3 Ajax “old boys” in our starting 11, a good thing?

Will it benefit us?

I guess the away game will feel like a home fixture for them. There seems to be a lot of love between the two clubs anyway, so it should be an interesting tie in terms of atmosphere.

Imagine 1 of them scored last minute to send us through... Muted celebration or go wild?

It's an entirely different team, and they're using whatever Leicester were a couple of seasons back...

Agreed.

I really (and I mean REALLY) hope there's no trouble around either fixture. It's literally turning into a fairytale story for both of us, with neither club being expected to be where they are now.

There's been some wonderful stuff written about each of us & how we've somehow got to where we are. It would be such a bloody shame if the positivity & recognition is instantly soiled by a minority of stupid violent fucks.

That would surprise me. Ajax and Spurs are historically considered to be friends. Hopefully it will be a bit of a positive festival atmosphere in both games.

Both teams have Jewish identity.

Yep. That's the root cause of the relationship, but generally the clubs have built on that to establish a good connection.

Even without it, personally I have a huge amount of respect for Ajax. Always have done.

I've always had a soft spot for Ajax due to their philosophy, youth setup, players in common etc. and I think they like us too.

However, I have to say, seeing some of the neo-nazi loons (with t-shirts and flags to prove it) in the main square in Madrid before the RM game I wouldn't just assume that sanity will prevail...
