Yeah. It wasn't pretty at times, and at times we struggled to maintain possession. But fuck me, we won! And, on reflection, I'd say we deserved it.
They came to mostly kick us, we went to hit on the counter attack and remain tight. We did our job, and we nicked it!
Gattuso and Flamini should have been sent off. Complete and utter twats, the pair of 'em.
Hope Corluka isn't completely fucked from that Flamini tackle.
On to the positives:
How awesome was Sandro? He was everywhere, breaking up their attacks, filling in holes, blocking their through balls, keeping possession, doing things simply. Simply superb. How great he is going to be? He has all the raw ingredients, he's gonna be superb!
Palacios beside him was very good too. Gave the ball away cheaply a few times (especially late on) but otherwise excellent.
Gallas (as always, lately) and Dawson were rocks. Dawson had Ibra in his pocket all game (let's hope he doesn't forget to declare that giant Swede in his pocket at customs on the way home!)
Crouch I thought worked tirelessly with not much service and tucked home the chance when it presented itself. He's just gold for Europe. European defences just don't have a clue how to nullify his threat.
With Bale and Modric (from the start) in the side we'd have ripped them apart out there.

Yeah I thought Ray Wilkins was excellent, he confused Pienaar with BAE at one stage, but I'll forgive him that, they do look bloody similar :lol: And Stelling was so much better than old hairy hands.

Doesn't 1st Feb and the defeat to Fulham seem a long time ago! 2 weeks ago, a lot of people on here hated, Harry, Levy, Crouch, Gomes, Dawson, Sandro, Palacious etc etc. 2 weeks ago none of them were good enough.
