If were raiding wolves can we go for neves too?

I think central midfield is a position we desperately need to strengthen.
I thought Neves was a brilliant player 2-3 years ago. But I don’t feel like he has got any better and not sure how much he would improve us now tbh

Dont get why so many people are against this transfer.

He's way better technically than a lot of people in this thread are making out highlighted by his key passes and chances created stats, plus add in the fact he draws 2/3 defenders to him, I think he could be a great addition.

He was improving year on year under Nuno, but last year the loss of Jiminez really screwed up how the whole team played.

If he's available on a loan with an option to buy it's a no brainer, as he instantly improves our options for games either as a starter or off the bench.
See I think physically you can’t question him. As quick as you get, strong as an ox. Then technically I actually think he’s a very good dibbler with a lot of skill in the locker. But passing, crossing and shooting wise I think he is below par. I’m not fully against this transfer as I think he does have a lot of strengths, but if I’m being honest I think it’s hard to argue against the fact he has gaping weaknesses in his technical ability

If Kane ends up going you’d have to think this is one of the deals we could get done & wrapped up shortly.

The counter attack speed we would have would frighten the opposition. We are left side heavy atm, Traore would offer some right side balance.

Maybe shooting he is average. I would say he is above average passer/crosser and I suggest anyone questioning him just pull up his 19/20 season highlights with a health Jimenez.

The guy came up through Barcelona’s academy so you know technically he is there. People want a better finisher but a Traore with good finishing is literally Mbappe and a top 5 player in the World.

Seriously people, take a look. This is a one season highlight in the Premier League.

I had not realised he is only 25 still. An intriguing transfer, if it were to happen. Their new manager plays inverted wingers and prefers his fullbacks to carry the ball, so he possibly doesn't value Adama as much as NES does. I'm not sure he'd be a guaranteed starter in our Premier League XI, but who knows. So if perhaps there is a good deal to be done to bring him in as a rotation option, I don't think it would be the worst idea. You'd hate to be in a defense that has to worry about covering him, Sonny, and Kane at the same time - that's for sure!

he is one of those players that will have loads of people complaining when he signs but then will have those same people fawning over him when he actually plays for us and does well

Liverpool have been linked with him a lot as well, I bet they also know what they are doing

Wasn’t he playing injured for most of the previous season? IIRC the 19/20 season he showed improvement in shooting and crossing. His regression last year was mostly down to his injury.

As much as he looks amazing and unplayable sometimes, I can only see that we'll be frustrated with him in a short time and he'll join the list of players that we want rid of but can't shift. Not sure if that's my impression of us as Spurs fans, or just the type of player that he is.

As with any player, I'll be very happy to be proven wrong.

I see a loan has mentioned but also a fee around £40m on a perm. Doubt we will be prepared to pay that kind of money for a wide player this window unless we lose someone but if we were, much rather we looked at Doku at Rennes as a pacey option. Only 19 so plenty chance for upside. Also represented by Jonathan Barnett's agency.

Do not rate, especially at rumours of 40M,much better spent on someone else, perhaps someone who knows where the back of the net is?

you do bring up a great point i didn't think about, literally if he could shoot he would be worth 200 million like no joke, he is a freak of nature and may never have end product but god damn he would be fun to watch

Here are my thoughts on Adama:

The negatives, his crossing, as with his shooting, lacks refinement, lacks poise, lacks a certain je ne sais quoi.

That's really it from the negative side to the ledger.

On the positives, the man is a beast of a player. Quick, strong, positionally solid going forward or back. In fact, it may be the way to solve the Doherty problem. They were instinctively in synch two years ago. He defends and covers well, and, going the other way, has defenders backing off.

His numbers need context. Who was the great 9's or 10's he was firing crosses in to? Wolves only scored 36 last year. Only 51 the year prior where they finished 7th, just below us (we scored 61).

Here is the reality, numbers stripped out. Barcelona trained and groomed. Played his best football in front of Doherty and under the coaching of Nuno. An absolute handful, strength and pace-wise for defenders. Responsible going forward and back.

I'd take him in a minute. Without Kane, any three of Son, Bergwijn, Moura and Traore will probably be the fastest top three players in the PL. With Kane in the middle you have Son/Bergwijn/Sessegnon and Moura/Traore/Clarke on either side all with Dele of Gil behind. Scary as crap IMO.

His build makes him look awkward. He has not been surrounded at Wolves by the level of players we have (whether Kane is in or not).

Just think having Moura and/or Traore on the bench to throw at tired teams for the last 20 minutes.

Traore would be a great addition and improvement to the squad, which is what we need. No bedding in required.

For the money that Wolves would want in a permanent move, I’d rather use it to get Damsgaard. We still haven’t adequately replaced Eriksen.

100% this....he'd be the new Bergwijn and having no final product. That would be the endless moaning in here.
