I'm very much in the attacker is more important than a CB camp.
We have six CBs, CBs are never rotated during a game, and if our three starting CBs were injured we'd still field Lenglet, Sanchez, and Tanganga.
We have five attacking options, these are the most rotated during a game, and if our three starting attackers were all injured it would leave us with Richarlison, Moura, and no-one.

For me, the squad needs that extra forward to balance out the 'no-one' position before we look to upgrade positions that we already have two players for.
I get that but I was more referring to getting a potentially starting CB rather than a 6th choice one. Our 4 main attackers are excellent, perhaps elite level. Of our defenders I think only Romero is at that same level, and Dier and Davies are very good. Our excellent defensive unit relies on the whole team defending rather than brilliance of just the 3 centre backs playing well together. If we had better players there it gives those ahead of them more of a licence to do more in an attacking sense.

Plus is a worst case scenario we have Perisic, Gil and Sessegnon as option number 6,7 and 8 in attack should a catastrophe occur. I'm more confident about them than I am in our second string defence. And as I said, we can easily resort to 3-5-2 if we needed to (how Inter played), but I can't see us resorting to a back 4 in the event of a few defenders being out.

Another problem who is going to hug Traore if he scores, no one is going to want to get covered in oil?

Give me Oily man every time, I'd guess it would be a landslide.

Maybe Wolves have told him to have no end product because of that ? ... we just have to play in long sleeves all the time. And his number of goals and assists will explode.

At this stage and barring a last minute surprise option, I’m all aboard the Adama train in order to let Gil go on loan

Everyone seems to be thinking if we get anyone, it’ll be Traore, yet there seems to be no sign of anything happening ?

It's not ideal but I imagine we at times will play Perisic as left forward and Sess at wing back. The team will be rotated with a few players who can cover multiple positions. We also don't loan Gil without an incoming so we do have him as an option too.

I was also thinking about how we replace Dier and I wouldn't be surprised to see us go to a back 4 a times. It would give the option to play Lenglet left of a 2 and 2 wingers with 2 up front. There's room to be flexible. It's not as simple as needing 2 for each exact position.
Going on what I've seen from Conte we have generally rotated the LWB, and only played four at the back once when we were desperate, so I'm not convinced this addresses our issues.
I agree with what @Freddie says below about 3-5-2 and would rather get someone like SMS in to achieve this but, again, Conte seems to show no interest in this so we do need two players in every position if Antonio sticks with his 3-4-3 as it's the only position we don't have it.

Like it or not Conte's system is heavily reliant on individuals beating men to create space (something we struggle to do with passing) and that's something Traore can do better than most.
He could give us good options and could free up others to play in other positions (like Kulu at 10)
Would also be a better option than Moura on the right (and much better than Dan James)

While he wouldn't be my first choice, this style of football wouldn't be either doesn't mean i won't support him (or us)

I still think this is the most likely thing to happen tomorrow. Avatar banter aside.
