From the same Mirror article as Pohjanpalo

Spurs also want Real Betis wing wizard Alvaro Vadillo. The 18-year-old starlet, also a target for Manchester United, has been touted as the next Cristiano Ronaldo and Spurs technical director Franco Baldini is ready to make a firm move.

Seems like a right footed left winger who at 18 has already started games for Betis, albeit the YouTube clips just show him falling over a lot.

I've heard of Vadillo the Armadillo. Who are Ronaldo and Baldini?

Vadillo is rated pretty highly as a prospect in Spain, the bigger clubs have been watching him for quite a time, he managed to get a damaged a cruciate after a tackle with Sergio Ramos just at the point he was coming through, so missed quite a bit of playing time. A left winger but I can't really say much more than I have read in the Spanish press as he hasn't played much for the first team

If there is any truth I wonder how this relates to Chadli, could we be looking to bring in two wingers.

I don't mind if we sign him for a low fee, but I wouldn't get so excited at this as from what I watched he's nothing out of the ordinary

What is actually the criteria of being a "new Ronaldo" as opposed to, f.ex., a "new Messi" or "new Maradona"? If there is any criteria at all ;)
Messi was once labelled the "new Maradona"... but now he's almost surpassed Maradona as a football, so would he soon "turn into" the Maradona then?

Vadillo is a right winger not a left Barry.

Really? I thought he is primarily a left winger from both what I've seen and also read. I haven't seen much of him mind as Betis isn't a team I watch much and he hasn't played so much for them anyway, so he could play more on the right, but I've also read him described as a left winger in the press so assume that's his primary role

All the times I've seen him play he played LW. Maybe you think he's a RW because he's right footed

Betis sporting director Vlada Stosic has tried to dissuade Spurs from making a bid, saying: “We’re not listening to offers for Vadillo. We want to keep him."

But Tottenham could still force the issue if they are willing to meet the youngster's £17m release clause.

Stosic added: "Unless someone comes and pays the clause, or a figure very close to his buyout clause, then he'll be staying."
Damn. I'm pretty high on this kid.

Plus check out the monkey ears - remind you of anyone?
