Agree with the article. Id be happy if this was our team next year, continuity is key, as is stability.

An on form Bentley & Bale will feel like new signings in themselves, so if ever Lennon is having a stickey patch then hopefully Bentley can do a job (ive almost forgot he is at the club). Bale as well, we know what this kid is capable of, if he finds his feet, then we have a contender for the left hand side of midfield.

Dont forget Giovani, Bostock, Taarabt etc.. they will get their chances (I hope).

Quite a good article, I won't be any different this year though, if we hear rumours that we'll be signing Rodrigo Palacio or Diego Buonanotte or any other class players from footy manager etc. we'll all be excited.

On the note of Benzema, I really rate him highly, although he reminds me of a pro evo striker for some reason, I think he's got the potential to be the best all round forward in Europe within a couple of years. Despite announcing that if Lyon lost to Barca he would leave, he's now stated that he will be at Lyon for at least next season, so he's obviously hanging on for a move to Man Utd., Chelsea, Barca, Real, Inter or perhaps even Munich if they got the money. Klose and Toni aren't getting any younger, Bayern have just sold Podolski and they've got Ribery there so it wouldn't surprise me if they were his stepping stone.

didn't rate the article that much - no real passion for the club came through - just a sort of self-mocking

it's fair enough if you like that sort of thing but I prefer posters and fans who are more positive in their outlook

I don't know anything about the guy, but I bet he spends most of every game he goes to analysing the match rather than cheering and singing for the team

may be completely wrong of course he might be a real passionate cheerer and singing type - if so apologies

I think a lot of my reaction also comes from the fact that I never go on 365 but whenever there's an article from it posted on here I find it negative or lukewarm about spurs

Yeah, i know, and then he has the outright cheek to come onto a forum and then try and talk about the game he was just at! What an idiot eh? :duh:

I've been saying the same thing for a few years now. In fact, at the end of the season I was planning on writing an article making the same point. A lack of stability, both on and off the pitch, has been behind the lack of progress. Just think how many players have come and gone, have we really missed anyone other than maybe Berbatov?

DC_Boy, you're nuts! The writer was hardly negative, just pointing out an area that needs much improvement. It's a shame you don't analyse matches, you might realise why we do so poorly despite our money. Also most people can sing and pay attention to what's going on

camaj I admit I expressed myself badly there - I should have written 'giving analysis' rather than 'analyse' - you can of course do that whilst singing etc

he just reminded me of lots of spurs fans that i don't get on with, they're too self-mocking, deprecatory, apologetic of our club - maybe it's my problem, and I did apologise if I was being too harsh, given the hostile climate he was writing in

ah well each to his own opinion, I have to say I think your criticisms of me are harsh too- but if you feel that way fair enough :)

re our spending, of course we could do better, but currently we are the 5th most successful club in England over the decade between 99-08, and I doubt whether our net spending (including wage bills) has been more than 5th highest - so maybe you ought to analyse that :)

the end of this season sees our 99 league cup drop out of the equation and we may drop from 5th place - we may not too, it's unlikely that our acheivements versus spending wil be too out of kilter even then

have to wait for mid may to do a full analysis on all the clubs in contention for that 5th spot for the full first decade of the 21st century, and while it's hard to do full analysis of all clubs net spending - I can say for sure that 3 of the big 4 will deffo have outspent us - toon probably too and given our respective acheivements we'll almost certainly proven to be better value for money than them etc etc

leeds we definitely have been - we've won that battle already in the value for money stakes

If you've been on their forum, you'll find that Spurs are very much the most hated club on there, though not necessarily on their main page. While you'll get mocking for every team, the forum practically breaks down every time we lose with a hundred LOLSPURS threads and we get mocked in threads that don't even have anything to do with football all the time, unlike other clubs except for perhaps Newcastle atm since they're the comedy club of the week while we seem to be the joke club of all time. In match threads almost every single neutral wants us to lose, and it isn't helped by the fact that Arsenal fans are just about the largest group on there, barring Man Utd by a bit.

I am aware of said forum, and am a fully paid up member.
And most of those threads are started by only a few people like Mozman, Dagenham Gooner and Wengers magic fingers, who are complete twats and WUMs of the highest order. Then you get the odd sheep following on, but Villa got it hard a couple of weeks ago from us, as did Chelsea 2 weeks ago.

To be fair though THFC6061 is the biggest WUM on there and most of the people who get at spurs are actually getting at him, because he is so pig-headed about spurs that it is unbelievable. Her winds people up to the extreme. he is more one-eyed than Wenger.

And any case, all of that is the forum and not the main site. The main site rips the piss out of everyone. We haven't exactly helped the situation with some of our actions and decisions as a football club of recent years.

I agree with the sentiments in the article. We have a decent team and it's hard to think of obvious improvements which would outweigh changing a settle side. I honestly find it hard to think of attainable players who are significantly better than the ones we have in our starting eleven.
