Couldn't resist putting another dig at me towards the end of your post I see. As you've said before, you clearly feel many of my posts with stuff from Twitter/Newspapers/Journalists (again shown by the sarcasm here) are pointless, so maybe you should put me on ignore, then you wouldn't have to see it...?

Two tips:

1) stop replying to SK posts in general, even if you're trying to be friendly/funny etc

2) please stop replying to one-off opinion posts in this thread no matter if you really, really feel you need to correct something/have a joke about something/want to be friendly. You can do that in any of the hundreds of other threads on the site but not this one.

Follow these two lessons and your SC life will be much improved I assure you (y)

I agree with your second point but not the first.

I'm happy to discuss things with most people on this forum, including THFCnumbers. Just not in a thread designed as an outlet for random drunk grandpa Simpson rants.

Eriksen. Seems almost untouchable when it comes to criticism. Yet is hugely ineffective in a large number of games.

Walker. Gets slated even when he puts in a good shift.

I sick to death of people on this forum using the term "knee jerk reaction" whenever people voice an opinion against the grain after a loss,
I for one don't see why people have this blind faith in Poch ! This whole we don't stick with any manager is BS , it's like having one shitty girlfriend after another , should you stay just coz you haven't for the others

Vertonghen has become a liability. Solid in his first season but hasn't come close to replicating that form.

Agree with all of that. The 'super fans' like to come out in force after a shit performance to remind everyone of how superior they are for being so blinkered. The kind of people you'd slap in the face only for them to say "please sir...can I have some more".

And Pochettino's been a terrible manager. Oh he plays the kids? Well fucking done. Any random off the streets could stick a Championship player like Mason in midfield. The trick is to actually get decent performances out of those players - which Pochettino doesn't.

And before someone pipes up with 'what about Kane?' I have no doubt that Kane would have done well regardless of whoever was in charge. He effectively carried on where he left off under Sherwood, and I doubt many would be celebrating Timmy for his magical influence.

Are we any better now than we were under AVB?

I genuinely don't think so.

Worse. At least with AVB I could see what he was trying to do (even if he didn't do it very well).

No idea what Pochettino is attempting to achieve. Maybe bore the opposition to death?

If we are going to play Chadli and Dembele on the wings then why the hell aren't we playing trippier and rose to get beyond them? Lack of pace and penetration absolutely kills us

3 games in, and I've not felt this pessimistic for a season in 7-8 years. I know we are building for the future, with the new stadium etc. but I feel this season will be peppered with many many lows. I hope some business in the next week or so will change things. But not holding my breath..

I'm wildly optimistic when it comes to Spurs but for the first time ever I'm losing the faith. AVB built us from the back and other than the defeats to the big clubs it look like we knew what the fuck we were doing. This however, I don't know how to explain it. Clueless, absolutely clueless. Every player on that pitch is scared of playing forward so the ball always ends up with Toby, Jan or Hugo which defeats the object of counter attacking or whatever the fuck the plan is.

Let me point out that I'm glad Redknapp was sacked but our obsession with tactical genii has taken us so far backwards. Any decent manager would get this squad playing to their strengths and playing better than we are at the moment. We don't have the players for this shitty system we've persisted with for fucking 50 odd games and I think even if we sign Bera we will look just as bad as we have. There is no plan A, let alone plan B.

I was a massive advocate of Pochettino and I still hold out the hope we will come good, but I am becoming increasingly concerned about the upcoming season.

It makes matters worse when we look hopelessly disorganised yet again in the transfer window, scrambling for the two positions that were supposed to be a priority back in May.

We need to be sounding out potential alternatives just in case the confidence completely goes and the results start to spiral out of control. I really hope that it doesn't happen, but I fear it could if Poch is not backed properly (yet again) and if he doesn't start getting the team selection right and injecting some confidence into the team. At least this time there are some top managers potentially available if the worst were to happen.

Sadly the one common denominator is Daniel Levy. He's very good with the off the field stuff, but on the field he is highly questionable. Sacks manager, appoints another, fails to back him but they still show promise, fails to back him again because he thinks we'll get away with it, pressure grows, results turn, Levy sacks manager.

Sadly I can see this happening again if something isn't done soon signings wise, because we're in dire need of an injection of confidence. Berahino and Illarramendi would be great, with someone like Pato perhaps to add some excitement to the season. Unfortunately though even one of those 3 seems optimistic at the moment.

To be honest, even if he does deliver with the signings, they come too late to be integrated, and by the time October comes around we're way off the pace. Welcome to the Spurs cycle.

It all falls squarely on Levy's shoulders. Hires the wrong managers and fails to back them. He may have the club in good financial standing and is improving the infrastructure around the club but he doesnt do anything to improve the product on the pitch and fails to address our biggest needs. Hasnt really meant us falling behind recently but now, this summer, we are falling way behind. Everyone around is spending and improving considerably. They recognize that you gotta spend money to make money and take risks. We are not doing anything of the sort. Not spending, not improving and not taking risks. I'm very concerned with Poch as our manager, but it all falls back to Levy. He and ENIC are the common denominator in everything.

I wish Cain Hoy/Guggenheim would come back in for us. We need it if we are to actually have a chance of competing for anything by the time the new stadium is built.
