So the season is just around the corner and players are getting back to training soon, we're all full of pent up frustration after last season and haven't had any outlet for it (other than half the forum becoming recent Vogue columnists in the new kit thread) so i thought we could use this down time to get some of those opinions out which we previously held out on for fear of being torn down faster than an 'under offer' sign outside Archway Steel.

  • I miss Peter Crouch.
  • I've seen nothing on the pitch from Sandro to make me think he's any better than Pedro Mendes and find the way Spurs fans talk about him and his 'zany' ways embarrassing, if he was an Liverpool player we'd call him an arsehole.
  • Aaron Lennon has been a more important player for Spurs than Gareth Bale was.
  • I don't feel comfortable with Lloris in goal, at all, not one bit.
  • I agreed with David Baddiel.
  • I like the (probably) new home shirt.
  • Tim Sherwood will be Tottenham manager again one day.
  • Actually, Pedro Mendes was better than Sandro is.
  • I'd rather have a team of Berbatovs than a team of Van Der Vaarts, who wasn't even that good for us anyway of people bothered to remember his time here.
  • Spursking is an SC god and should be treated as such.
Let's not argue, lets use this as a safe place to get those nasty thoughts out of you and into the world, it's ok, it's fine, let it all out.

I agree Sandro is vastly overrated. I also agree VDV was overrated too (used to infuriate me the fact he could barely last 70 mins).

These two are very likeable characters though.

I don't believe the thread is a piss take. Its what people think but wouldn't air because it would be controversial. I was dead serious about my comment on Rebrov.

I was responding to a specific post saying it wasn't clear whether the thread was serious or not because some of the posts seem serious but others were clearly having a bit of fun. I was agreeing that it was unclear writ large over the thread, and not picking out any individual post as representing one or t'other, nor saying all posts were serious or all posts were mocking (y)

If you want me, particularly (ooeeerr, bit like being stalked :nailbiting::nailbiting::nailbiting: )then I kinda agree. He was horribly used. But, whatever it did to his head, he never showed anything elsewhere, leaving the suspicion that maybe he just wasn't suited to the English game and/or (as others have said) he just looked rather good at a lower level with an exceptional player like Shevchenko to partner him :coffee:

Seeing as we're confessing stuff:

I never read Starting Price's posts because they're too long, I usually look at his ratings at the bottom and if he has positive ones I click the 'like' rating.

Fair enuff

To be fair, I don't actually read Shady's posts, either - he is a dodgy character with something of the night about him (I deduced this by reading his User Name)! I would fear for my innocence if I read his corrupt filth. But as soon as I come across one of his posts I hit a positive rating, otherwise he might beat me up (or, indeed, down) and steal my dinner money :nailbiting::nailbiting::nailbiting:

His stated belief that the disabled are being punished for sins in a former life.
He denies saying that.

In a series of angry outbursts yesterday, Hoddle vehemently denied he had told the Times that the handicapped had come back to Earth to suffer. 'I can assure you that is not what I said and that is not what I mean.' His comments had been 'turned on their head . . . misconstrued, misinterpreted'.

However Matt Dickinson, the Times sports writer who wrote the story, said last night: 'I reported the interview faithfully and accurately and now its for others to draw their own opinions.'

Hoddle, 41, told the Times that people were reincarnated 'to learn and face some of the things you have done - good and bad.' He said: 'You and I have been physically given two hands and two legs and half-decent brains. Some people have not been born like that for a reason. The karma is working from another lifetime. I have nothing to hide about that. It is not only people with disabilities. What you sow, you have to reap.'

I think Glenda would do a very good job with our current squad.

Sandro has become our 'Freund' in the team. We love him due to his commitments and slight touch of madness, despite his limitations as a footballer. We just need to shout SHOOT every time he gets the ball.

I thought Sherwood did ok given the circumstances, but I wouldn't want him as our manager this season.

I thought George Graham was the right manager for us at the time

This is a good thread.
