I am bemused by how we played today (and every day recently). As has been said, again and again, we NEED a CM of quality...ands since there are none in UK we must go continental or worldwide, to find him. A 'little bird' from Barca tells me that THFC are seen as a bad bet to earn CL this, or any year, in the near future. If this view is held at other great Euro Clubs we are going to struggle to get our man! It is now too late to get CL, unless we WIN WIN from here on (laugh if you agree!). What bothers me is WHO will stand up and accept the 'slap on the hand' as the responsible party? Comolli, Ramos, Levi, The Playing Staff or ALL together? Sacking/dropping will do us no good service....so what can be done? I am too delusional to even contemplate the answer.....and may always be! COYS!

The biggest problem is the way in which we are playing. In preseason we played with so much speed and fluidity, I didnt recognise the team. Now it seems like all of that has gone. Today we had ZERO overlapping on the wings, which made it to predictable.

It doesnt come down to x/y/z player being shite (Gilberto aside), or not playing well, it comes down to the team playing in a set way. We had zero movement, which means defending players are not pulled out of position, and through balls/clever runs cannot be made, which Bent thrives on - again see preseason for that.

As many have said a switch back to a 442 should be the way to go. As we are not getting the switching up from what ever the formation is these days. By having Bale/Lennon or Bale/GDS on the left and any combination of Gunter/Zakora/Bently/Lennon/GDS on the other flank (Corluka is not included as he doesnt have the pace) you will have much more movement. Plus you should have the wingers swapping sides will confuse the defending team. There will always be an arguement as to who should play in the middle but with the likes of Modric/Jenas/Huddlestone working and playing balls around and the interchangeable wing play, you would create the chances needed for the front two to get on the end of

I fail to see where we are going, it's painful to watch such a pathetic embarrassing set up.

We have absolutely know idea and show no signs of a team thats going to sort things out.

BAE- dreadful, how he is selected and on what basis, week in and week out, is beyond me.

Dawson- just shit

O'Hara- So one footed it's untrue, can only turn and play in one direction

Corluka- Right back my arse.

Ramos- Lennon on the left? Dos Santos on the right? The man has lost the plot.

There is light at the end of the tunnel and no sign of any.

By the time January arrives it could well be far too late.

Fuck i've had enough, lock the thread, tell me it's another knee jerk reaction, tell me players need to bed in etc etc. I'll tell you they are all piss poor excuses for what we're seeing at the moment.

It's a fucking shambles right throughout the team. I have know idea what the answer is and thankfully i don't have to come up with one. The board what fucking for undermining Jol who was fired for a lot lot less of a shit set up than we are getting now.

We're all tired of excuses for this poor start but did you even watch the game today? Dawson and Corluka both had good games. Like you though I am very happy I don't need to come up with an answer to our problems.

Yes i did and it's all abour opinions, but come on for all his endevour and commitment he'll always gone done far too easily too often and today he got turned by Defoe and before you know it it's 2-0 and game over.

Corluka i'll again have to disagre, his and Dawson's job are first and foremost about defending. Corluka didn't need to be that far over towards Dawson and he then never got across to the goal scorer quick enough, that aside maybe it's just been over critical, but they are issues that will happen most weeks, it's why we don't keep clean sheets more often, yes they are exposed too often and on a regular basis.

Just to add what did corluka add attacking wise? Don't think when we were going forward he offered anything over the half way line.

Corluka was excellent today and he looks like a class player so i am not sure what your problem is with him. Dawson and O'Hara are not good enough for Spurs but then thats no big secret Zokora should also be added to the not good enough list.Strangley enough Zokora and O'Hara were both given new deals in the summer who's bright idea was that?!:shrug:And as for Ramos i still have faith in him becuase hasn't been able to get the CM players he wanted so untill he gets his own team not Martin Jol's cast offs we should give him a chance.

So the signings of Gunter, Hutton, Woodgate, Gilberto, Gomes, Modric, Corluka, Bentley, Pav, GIO, and the sales of ex Jol players Defoe, Berbatov, Keane, Robinson, Chimbomda, Lee, Malbranque, Tainio were done without consulting Ramos ? Not much of Jol's team left is there ?

I think there's bit more to it than that mate out of the players that have left Berba Keane and Defoe were players Ramos wanted to keep. And with the excepetion of Malbranque i don't think any of the others will really be missed. The quality of players he has bought are imo opinion an improvment and i think given time they will show that. And more importantly the engine room of the team JJ and Zokora are Jol's players and thats what is letting us down at the moment.

Got so frustrated with the midfield's lack of vision today. 9 times out of 10 would receive the ball stationary or with their back to the play, looking for the square or backward pass. I was constantly screaming "turn around" at the screen.
And opposition players are cottoning on to our lack of tackling ability. Just have to run with the ball in reasonable close control, avoid Woody, and you will get a chance to setup a striker or have a pop yourself.
Very sad.
The carrot of champs league football is going to be very tempting to Lennon and Bale in January.

Spurs are draining every last inch of life out of me, it's depressing. I can't think of many constructive things to say about the team.

Sounds crazy, but sack Ramos, get Gus in, sack Commolli, get anyone in and let some billionaire take over the club and get shot of Levy. It's the only way we will achieve, particularly with the latter.

Bloody hell...that was what the 90s were like. Even fans from lower league teams took the piss. That was bad.

The lower league fans would always lick the arses of Utd, Scum, Liverpool fans which made it even worse.
