I don't so much have a problem not getting him if we didn't think the deal was right, it's more so the fucking about when we're fairly desperate for major ins/outs.

For context:
  • We've been pursuing Fati for ages (backed up by ITK), since at least April (and yes, we didn't have a manager then...)
  • At some stage yesterday the deal was "agreed" and flights/medicals were being arranged
  • Levy then jumped in and pulled the plug as he wasn't happy with the terms of the deal
  • If it got that far, you'd assume Ange was happy with it and you'd also presume that we cooled our interest on other targets
  • We've had since at least April to ask whether they'd include an option or not, that wasn't a surprise
  • It all stinks of Levy playing games and looking for a deal
  • There's two days left and once again, Levy will be caught *snigger* short

If we get Johnson and a CB and this was just a "punt" that didn't work then fair enough. If this was our main attempt to give Ange the attacking players he needs for this season then we've fucked up yet again.
Did Levy really pull the plug as such? From how I've read between the various reports, we wouldn't do a loan without an option so Barcelona has preferred to go with Brighton's "dry" loan proposal instead which suits their long term interests much better.

I'm no Levy supporter, but I'm not sure this deal is something to beat him up about. Not like there isn't a whole warehouse of ammo to bash him with already

So, in summary: something has happened.

Some believe it is a bad thing, some believe it is a good thing. There is only limited information available as to what caused the thing to happen. Everyone already holds pre-conceived ideas of the reasons why anything happens though, good or bad. Currently, everyone is interpreting the limited information to fit their pre-conceived notions.

Everyone is convinced they are correct.

positive start to the season, chance to kick on people start to see a potential for things to get better again. 9 changes in the league cup then we start losing targets we want at the last minute.... but not to Chelsea or United or City... no to Brighton. Everytime things start to look positive we get a reminder of how far we are falling down the pecking order.

Surely with this it’s more us then anything. Brighton aren’t a bigger club, or maybe they are and I’m just in denial, so it’s not like Diaz going to Pool over us. Who knows what really happened but this seemed more like us having second thoughts over the terms and then Mendes quickly trying to find a second option because Barca needed him gone asap to get Felix.

Ether way it’s a bit of a mess. Seems we spent quite a bit of time trying to get this tied up. I just hope this wasn’t a case of Levy up to his old tricks of last minute trying to get s better deal.

I have no idea why would have got to the stage of booking a medical if we didn’t like the terms.
Maybe it is maybe it isn't. With Mendes one deal often leads the s second deal or a favour owed, or more money in his back pocket. Nothing is ever straight forward with that guy.

Funny how levy didn’t mind there not being an option when he short changed conte with lenglet on loan

Completely different circumstances, no? Inter fecked with us with Bastoni and we got a short term similar-ish player for the season. Thank god we didn't get him on a permanent transfer.

Rinse and repeat until their contract expires? Fucking obviously genius.
Sorry what point of not selling them and us paying their wages is better than someone paying their wages?

You can’t sell your house if no-one wants to buy it. You can sell it for 4p, sure. That what you’re suggesting here?

I think I might give this place a swerve today: I had about 2 hours sleep and I can already tell my posts are grouchy. Sorry.

If I need to stamp anything, please can someone email me?

I think we will get this over the line, if we do I think he will be a baller for us and hopefully get Son back on form. We are well past due a Levy deadline special.

Helder Postiga, Pedro Mendes, Jose Mourinho, Gedson Fernandes, Matt Doherty, Carlos Vinicius & Nuno Espirito Santo.

None of Jorge Mendes clients have ever worked out for us.
