When asked about Kane's chances of featuring in the Champions League group game, Pochettino responded: "Wednesday 50 per cent and Sunday we will see. We will see.

“Of course it’s important for Harry to come back. Harry is our main striker. We are very happy with Vincent [Janssen] but we brought him to share that position with Harry.

“It’s not only our strikers. Our second line need to score more and be more aggressive, to be more determined to score and not only to play well. We need to be more determined to score – be more direct, shoot, believe.

“The reality is we need to be more clinical and score more. There are no worries about that but I think we are happy with the performance. They had one shot and scored one goal.

“You need to win games and in the last few games we’ve had problems scoring goals.”

Well at least he has called it the way that we are all seeing it. Next week Our AM s need to be at their very best and most aggressive if we are to get a result. At least we are playing a team who won't sit back.

You think we will sack another manager if we draw a couple more games? The same manager who is the best we've had in a long while?
I think we will sack him by December if things dont improve massively. We continue playing like this against Arsenal, Chelsea and even the spammers at the moment, we'll lose all 3.

I can't say what Levy will or won't do because that man has made managerial decisions that baffled, and continue to baffle, me. But I'd be amazed if he fired Poch this season, especially with the new stadium still being built.

Last season was a freak season. Levy and us fans have to really let that sink home. I've never known such a season where so many good teams underperform. Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal ARE all better than us. They were last season on paper too. Man Utd too probably, although their transfer dealings have been scattergun (like ours have been for the most part over the last decade) and they've lost cohesion. We also have the added pressure of Champion's League football.

Basically if we finish top four again this season it would be an excellent season. Some of our fans are talking about a title challenge but we're nowhere near that IMHO. We wouldn't have been last year had one of the usual suspects actually had a good season themselves.

Absolute nonsense anyone suggesting that Levy will fire poch he is everything Levy wants in a manager plus he is the best thing to happen to us for years.
As for title challenges i agree we wont win it this year in fact i cant see us ever winning it if Im honest, we are triers and pretenders but we always fall short or somehow blow it.
Despite this he has done so far a decent job with what he has and taken us to the highest place in the league for over 25 years not winners but not to bad either.

Why are we thinking like a small club all the time as if we have no right to be regulars in the top 4... The club, the players and the fans must must think we belong and have this expectation. We must show ambition and desire as a club to make this happen.. A club like Athletico Madrid should be our template...

I hear this quite a lot but don't Atletico have to go against Barca and Madrid to overachieve? We need to do the same against Man City, Man United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool as all of those have greater resources?

I'd argue that we've been doing it for a while now actually.

It's nothing to do with small club mentality. It's because our players aren't as good as the opposition.

I think a lot of what we are seeing was evident last year. We were winning games but across 90 mins you'd see numerous players playing the ball too slowly, taking far too many touches, and standing and admiring a pass rather than moving again for it.

Now obviously we still did plenty of good things, and won games, but it was still there. Now, shorn of our key striker and with others a bit out of form and struggling to click as a team these 'bad habits' are magnified.

I think we need to speed up our play, both reduce the number of touches and quicken the pace of the ball getting zipped around, and have players moving and busy for work. I'd say it's more about intent than risk.

Nail on head.

Agreed. He needs to change things and loosen it up. If things dont change after the next int'l break, I can see us making a change again. This is just far from good enough. This seems very much AVB mk 2.

Haha you seriously believe this?

We aren't that far away from being the best team in the league, well, in terms of number of players needed ( 1/2 )

Unfortunately, the 1/2 players we need to become champions are way out of our price range and are seemingly difficult to pick up on 'the way up' judging from our recent efforts.

If we had two of Coutinho, Mahrez, Ozil and the like, we'd win the league.

Our current attacking options are diabolical in comparison. Best keeper, best defence, best midfield two, 2nd best striker. Unfortunately, those behind Kane and in front of Moussa and Wanyama are probably around 7/8th best in the division.

An ambitious mentality means you buy better players in the positions you need them. In my view we have players who are good enough to compete just need a bit of xfactor in attacking areas

We really shouldnt be using the word fired and Poch in the same sentence. i think he will stay her for many years and would love him to.

I think this season he has become risk averse, last season we had a good balance. i think poch needs to go back to how we were last season.

Im watching the sunday supplement and they were talking about Klopps way of playing which is to win the ball high and counter from a high position have four players swarming the box. That was us last season was it not?

We need to go back to how we were last season, yes we may concede a few goals, we may lose one or two but its far better than not scoring and drawing.

We still lack craft, pace and inventiveness in the final third.

We are far too slow passing forward from midfield. Watching Arsenal and City ping one touch passes all over the pitch shows where we need to improve.

Still loads of positives.

Yesterday was just another example of why Isco or similar was absolutely vital in the summer
WINNER.

We should have spent the 30m we spent on Sissoko on someone like Isco or similar.
And the 10m we spent on N'Koudou (who I like) on someone like Sissoko.
