Once Sissoko is out of the team we will be far far better. He is just too limited a footballer for a top side. He has heart and energy but not enough quality.

Had a decent game imo.
It’s not his job to score goals. It’s such a stupid lazy assumption on sissoko because of his terrible finishing.

I wonder what the long term plan with Lo Celso is? Didn't he play basically an out and out DM for PSG? He might be the Sissoko replacement we need.

Much as it pains me to say it, that was the game where I am seriously starting to question Poch for the first time.

That was Harry Redknapp lottery football at it's finest, to coin a phrase from the erstwhile BC.

A couple of things were very clear to everyone very early on (and before kick off for most to be fair) except for Poch seemingly.

We had no control in the middle of the park whatsoever. Sissoko and Winks just does not work yet Poch persists with it.

Sanchez was comically out of his depth at right back (putting him in there in the first place smacks of Poch being too clever by half), again nothing was changed.

Also, even Jamie 'shit for brains' Redknapp has noticed that we don't put anyone on the edge of the 18 yard box for corners, mind boggling.

We were lucky to get away with a point. On the positive side I think we will take them apart at the Lane with our new signings bedded in, they are so fucking average, front 3 aside.

Honestly I felt Sanchez was less if a danger to us putting him right back than him at CB
He scares me

The RB position is bizarre can only think Poch has fallen out with Aurier or just doesn't trust him. Sanchez was so out of his depth in that role it beggered belief as to why he was there and I like most of you are baffled.

I would have taken that point all day long if honest particularly in the 2nd half where we were clinging onto the ropes but then when Kane foolishly went for the penalty it's what might have been scum so flimsy like us at the back. Season wise the rest are playing for 3rd and 4th Cieth and the Scousers seem streets ahead. As for our own season it's too early to say but it feels distinctly mid-table to me and the way Poch is sprouting on it could be worse COYS!!

Honestly think a few positives to take today. We held on after losing the 2-0 lead (we all know our history in this game) and even could have won it in the end had Sissoko had any technique to strike a ball whatsoever.

Anyone saying we won't win anything with Winks/Sissoko well yes I agree, but when they're the only two real experienced options we have fit, what do you suggest?

On Aurier, he was clearly there to make up the numbers for the bench. Because of he was able to, he would have gone on at some point as Sanchez was struggling at times.

Lucas should have been brought on in the second half. The gaps Arsenal left were clear to see and once Son went off we had zero pace to exploit it.

Now for the refereeing. Is it me, or has the standard got even worse with VAR? I know it's not VAR, because the premier league is using it differently to others.

With some ball players, around the CM and, AM areas we need more tackling edge at DM

I think if we play him in his best position ie RCB he should be fine although I must admit I'm not entirely convinced

Thought Lo celso looked a class act when he came on, looking forward to having him and Ndombele in the same team!

Poch is basically counting down to the Foyth returns. He has earmarked that RB spot for Foyth. That's twice now that Aurier, a natural RB, is in the squad but not used, especially today. Poch preferring to take liberties with Sanchez instead.

1. Sanchez’s not good enough
2. Why no Lucas
3. Kane is he unfit , what happened to the energy and the shooting and Harry kane
4. Loris was superb (other than his feet)
5. Losing is two goal lead is a let down but many great arsenal teams lost two goal leads to inferior spurs teams , that’s derbies for you
6. Son where’s his final ball?
7. Jan got beaten to easy for the second goal , I’m sick of auba
8. Ceballos looks a player but so does Lo celso

I kind of agree with all this.
Sissoko needs to work on his mental game.
The only reason he fluffs it EVERY TIME is due to a lack of composure and self belief in those positions.

Dele Ali is such a lazy player of late. Quite precious too.
He showed no real commitment or ‘dog’ in his performance. He didn’t provide anything of quality and I would prefer Son or Moura’s work rate to Dele’s lackadaisical efforts.

Loris good. But as captain he needs to realise how much pressure he’s putting on a fragile Rose and an out of position Sanchez by continually playing out from the back.
As a captain you have to notice when your team are rattled and when the opposition (and their fans) are in the ascendency.

Kane looked heavy in the legs.
Very poor decision making by Son after all his hard work to get us into good positions.

I honestly feel we are being over-coached right now.
We have lost some of our fluency.
We are over-thinking compared to previous seasons.
There’s not enough happiness and joy in the movement and passing.
The instinctive nature of our attack has dwindled.

To me...that reveals we are over-thinking and lacking fluency.
Also (maybe just to me) but it feels like personal player egos and self worth have expanded - resulting in players going it alone more often rather than feeding, being unselfish, setting up others without agenda.
It just feels like a few wonder goals in past seasons means their imagination goes into overdrive with potential scoring opportunities- rather than playing the easier ball to set-up another player.

Just my thoughts.

We are a fickle bunch aren't we.... just a few months ago we were praying we would have Sissoko and Winks fully fit to play the champions league final, now apparently neither are good enough. They are both important players, and if Sissoko can improve his final ball to the same degree he has improved other aspects of his game then we'll be laughing - (with him not at him, at least if his shooting improves as well). Lo Celso started to show some class today, and Ndombele looks like a very special player, so I would say we are finally looking good in midfield. Especially with another season with Eriksen. Lot's of positives today - naturally at 2-0 I was very excited about heading into the break with a famous win, but glad we hung on for the point in the end. I would certainly have taken a point from both city and arse away at the start of the season, so no complaints. Newcastle was a travesty, but heh...

By the way

Pepe

£72m

SHITE MATE
He's very talented but he'll make bad decisions. Thought he was kept quiet first half but as we got tired he looked more threatening.

We shouldn't be as tired next time so should be able to restrict his space

Second half was a bleak performance. Is it time Poch hired a defensive coach?
