Strategy? Seriously? We are in our fourth consecutive summer transfer window with a different manager. I don’t see anything particularly ’strategic’ about that!

To me, Conte is an example of “You can always rely on Daniel Levy to do the right thing - after he’s tried every possible alternative”. He’s employed rookies (Jol, Pochettino) and experienced managers (Redknapp, Mourinho) and pretty much everything in between.

Yes it’s good that things are looking up for us now. Long may it continue. But frankly it appears more that we’ve finally lucked out with Conte and Paratici now rather than seeing the culmination of a long term plan.

What utter nonsense. How can you possibly say appointing Paratici and Conte is luck. It’s obviously was a clear strategy decision. Jol Redknapp Pochettino you could definitely point to circumstance. But this was not luck.

This is the same account that said we won't crack 60 points next season. Now he's spending his Saturday afternoons writing "please don't be good Spurs" articles :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

When we were finishing ahead of them under Poch I think they could reconcile that with that fact that they were in pretty poor shape towards the end of AW/Emery's tenure.

They've just had one of their best seasons in the past 5 years and for most of it genuinely thought they would finish CL and that we were in poor shape. They really don't know how to handle the fact we've finished above them hence their arguments are getting more and more illogical (the " take Kane and Son out and Spurs wouldn't finish top 4" argument genuinely makes me laugh due it's absurdity)

Can't wait to see them meltdown further next season when their squad can't handle two games a week and their young players aren't as world class as they think they are.

So what was the ‘strategy’ behind appointing Mourinho then Espírito Santo?
Four summer windows under four different managers is not ‘nonsense’ as you claim. It’s a fact. And not - in my very humble opinion - the sign of a ‘clear strategy’.

I do enjoy the author’s notion that red cards for/against are entirely due to luck and nothing to do with discipline. I’m gonna take a giant leap and guess that he didn’t agree with the Rob Holding sending off on 12 May.

A lot of rumours they will sign Gnabry and Jesus.

Seems a crazy level of player for them to get considering they aren’t in the CL.

Will strengthen them hugely.

Merson reckons we have no chance of winning the CL next season, so we shouldn’t bother trying. ?

He's worse than Lawro with his bias'.
But at least Lawro seems a likable cad.

Ahh yes the same Merson who said we had no chance of qualifying for the CL this season. Rinse and repeat.

I can see my comment has met with disapproval, but if anyone can point to any of those names and tell me if they think those players have been a great success with the goons, I'd be happy to change my mind.

Who anything about a great success? ?‍♂️. There is a middle ground between shit and superb.

I disagreed that they were all shit because Martinelli is only 20 and looks like he's going to be a very good player.

Those AFTV lot are a bit special. In the run up to our game they were waxing lyrical about how they are back in the Champions League and possibly getting third in the process. Celebrating before anything had been decided. As soon as they bottle it the narrative changes and we are small time for celebrating the Wenger trophy.
That Robbie feeds his minions this shite that “we are only a few signings away from challenging” and that Spurs will never win anything. The scary thing in they actually believe that. Wow.
Their grasp on the here and now is non existent, some how being the ”Invincible’s” in 2004 impacts on them challenging for the title in an era with Man City Liverpool Chelsea and us, with a manager who put out cones for Pepe.
And they say Spurs fans are deluded.

Paul Merson lives in the same town as me. I've spoken to him a few times and he comes across as quite a decent fella. Never mentioned Spurs when talking to him but I'll try to slip it in next time I see him wandering around.

Chatted to gooner dad whose kid plays in same team as my son yesterday, he was pretty worried, asking how long in did we start seeing signs under poch. His take was arteta can't manage players and they have real issue on bottle - apparently they didn't get a single point when they went behind.
What made it better was chatting about transfers, when said about our 150m +cl +sales he went a bit ashen face and just said "oh fuck"
My inner voice was "hahahhahahahahhahahahhahahhaha"
