I'm going crazy with all this Rice praise.
Am I being blinkered or has Rice been amazing?
I have huge amounts of anti-Arsenal bias, so that could be clouding my judgement, but I watch most of their games, in the hope that they lose, and I just don't get it.

He's a good player and has been good. "Amazing"? Not for me, but their fans will have their own opinions. Our midfield dominated theirs when we played.

Whenever I watch them I forget he's playing, then after the match I see pundits, fans etc proclaim he was amazing, man of the match, 105m well spent etc.

I think Rice is a good player but I actually think his lack of ball skills compared to Partey has hindered, more than helped Arsenal.

I think for the money he's been bog standard. I'm not saying he won't improve after time with the team, more coaching etc but atm I can't believe the praise he's garnered.

Maybe I'm mad and he deserves his flowers.

Sometimes if players aren't noticed it just means they're doing their job properly. Rice isn't a creator or scorer really, he protects the back four and stops counters, which he does do well. The praise has been too much at times and his fee was ridiculous (though that's not his fault), but he is a very good player and does his job well.

I was only thinking at the weekend when I caught half hour or so of their game how dominant he had been in the West Ham set up but barely saw him influence anything in the time I spent watching. He's a very good player and they won't go backwards with him in the team but at a 100m I'd want my central midfielder to stand out even/especially against City and I didn't see that. But if they think he's amazing maybe he is. They watch him more than I do.

I actually thought he was very good against City, but he’s not stood out in any of their other games to me. Gary Neville seems obsessed with him though and he only has to fart for Neville to be on his vinegar strokes in the commentary box.

Let’s be honest. Rice wouldn’t get into our first team midfield. Who we taking out?

Bissouma - nope
Maddison - nope
Bentancur - nope
Sarr (backup) - nope

If anyone has the amounts we spent on our midfield (including backups):

Maddison
Bissouma
Bentancur
Sarr
Hojbjerg
Skipp

Would be interesting to compare that to how much Rice cost.

I think it's close.

When was the last time they scored intentionally? Every goal seems to be an own goal, penalty, or huge deflection? That sort of luck can't go on forever!

They've played 5 home games to our 3 and are below us in the table. Perspective.

Easy doing this, innit?

I see ex players and fans of theirs saying Spurs can't win the league they'll collapse as usual.

after the greatest bottle job in premier league history last season you'd think they'd be afraid to utter the word collapse.

arrogant twats, i'd almost forgotten how insufferable absolute wankers the Tarquins are when they are half decent.

It's odd to talk about collapse etc so lazy and weird. Most don't think we'll win the league, top after 8 games isn't that crazy, it's SO early in the season. It's just silliness so people can say "see they couldn't stay there". Yawn.
