Zinchenko is a weird transfer, assuming they want him as backup to Tierney who will probably spend 8 months injured? Either way, seems a weird one, no doubt they will spend a fortune and then boast about how Man Citys players are jumping at the chance to join Arteta as he builds Man City 2.0

What do you suggest? A trail by fire or water?
Yes, that would settle it. I'll go put the cauldron on.
I'm not suggesting anything other than people shouldn't based their judgement solely on a court verdict. Beyond a reasonable doubt is a good legal standard for guilt but not one I'll necessarily apply to my judgement of people.

Signings from Arsenal could end up being Tielemans, Zinchenko, Jesus and Vieira. 3 out of those 4 are very well established EPL players around 25 years old. Jesus and Tielemans are very good players. Zinchenko is very meh.
Jesus would be a concern given that he is reported to have performed multiple miracles like walking on water. Must be getting a bit old though by now. :p

Why can't we have deluded journalists at our club who Stoke the fires of faux/minimal interest? I'm bored and I want to dream

Yeah, I think your last point is an interesting one. Arteta clearly does want to build a City-lite. Mobile, pressing forwards who can switch positions fluidly and dominate possession in the opponent's half. Zinchenko would be an ideal candidate to come in, as he can play LWB and move into midfield/forward as needed.

Amazing to see how Arteta has just decided to copy Guardiola after coaching under him a few years.

If I'm not mistaken, Zinchencko prefers to play in centre mid, a position he plays for Ukraine.

I'm sure he would prefer that, but it's hard to see him playing there if they bring in Tielemans as well
Then I don't understand the move really. He's a very average FB, and he definitely won't go to Arsenal as backup. It's a strange one

I'm not sure we could have been any clearer.

No discussion of any allegations should be going on in here.
This. We've asked a number of times now and been more than patient, so if you fancy dipping your toe into this again you WILL be banned.

Bear that in mind please, meanwhile we'll re-open the thread in the hope that this time, notice is taken.

Cheers (y)

Right lets get to slagging these two bob Woolwich slags off then.
Arsenal are not a very good team and I hope we beat them every time we play them.

I hope this is in every competition, so that we can destroy their dreams and then they post about it on AFTV.

I’m sure they can trash talk better than me though.

I don't think they have made bad signings but I am not sure the players they are signing address their core issues. I can see them having a similar problem to last year which is essentially they're a little bit soft. Very technical but with a certain weakness that we were able to capitalise on. Rather than Man City 2.0 I see them more as Wenger (post 2004/5) Arsenal 2.0.

Make or break for Arteta I think this season. Fair fucks to Arsenal, they've backed their man both in shipping players out as well as the new guys in.

would any of the signings they've made prevent them from losing the two games away vs us and Newcastle when they were completely overpowered?
