Wow just got back from villa park and have lost my voice. Our support was immense today only hope it came across that way on tv.

Wish our home games had the same type of atmosphere.

Great win well played spurs

Yes it did mate :)

Agree to disagree then because I think you do. The managers job is to pick the team to try and win/draw the game and later in the game he will make subs to have a positive influence on the game. My point was that in the Everton game and in the Norwich cup game he made substitutions at a time when we were drawing/winning and then went on to lose both games - hence why I said I would judge him at the end of the season, not after a win against a seriously poor side.

I pressed "dumb", but meant to press "old". Having said that, dumb would have been a compliment. No one is getting over-excited over this win, but we played well against what was in front of us and did a professional job. I don't get what you're muttering on about.

Was such a good performance, i thought! I absolutely loved it when Parker came on... Did anyone notice how calm he was on the ball? It was actually immense, he controlled everything that was given to him and you could see him talking to everyone around the pitch. Was so good to see him and I honestly think that if we have him back now he will do such an amazing job. He just sat in front of the back four (albeit 3 or 4 up) but did his job so well.

Bale was very good, great runs and his shooting now is improving day by day. Ronaldo-esque and I for one dont mind him shooting from 25 yards all the time if they're going to be like they were yesterday.

Corners still a bit poor but when you're winning by 4 goals away from home, its not a problem!

Gallas was alright, was nervous with him on Benteke but he did ok... A few stray passes, however!

Was a great performance and I was so happy we won, I was nervous as I thought there would be a big back lash from Villa's Chelsea game but we did very well and for once WE KEPT GOING FOR GOALS and not sitting back.

AVB doing well, hope we can get maybe one or two signings in but if we didn't, I wouldn't be too sad. Kaboul will be like a new player and having Scotty P back is already amazing news.

MERRY X-MAS!!

Special mention for William Gallas.

I've been as critical as anybody of him this season, but today he was good. I'm always worried that he'll drop off and play their forwards onside but today he didn't. In fact, on one occasion, it was him moving up that meant that Benteke was caught offside. Well done Billy.

On another note, the benches at Villa Park are pretty primitive compared to most PL grounds aren't they?

Outstanding team performance. Really impressed with our work rate and pressing.

He won't get credit on here but thought Gallas' reading of the game and general performance was excellent. No poor performances and we're finally getting a break with injuries. Starting to feel optimistic, especially if we can add a certain name or two in January.

Both full backs were impressive today. Credit where it's due, they've both taken some stick over the last few weeks.
At last someone mentions what I observed! Because of Gallas, Loris seemed a surplus to requirements!

? If you read my comment it was fairly straight forward - I was saying im not getting carried away after todays win. That was in response to someone commenting earlier that AVB should no longer be questionned. Someone had a little much drink this christmas it seems ;-)

were If we go and win at Sunderland then ill start to believe but too many times this season we ve let ourselves down (Norwich, WBA, Wigan, Everton, Newcastle to name a few games)

So a bit like we did last season then against the likes of Norwich, Wolves, Stoke, QPR and Aston Villa then?

Or Wigan x2, West Ham x2, Blackpool x2 and Bolton the season before?

Welcome to watching Spurs at their most consistent in decades

yep exactly - should be beating teams like these (particularly at home) but its the same problems - ie the ability to break teams down who sit back against us.

Same problems to last two seasons. When we have a brand new manager, lost our 3 best players, had half our first team out all season, manager hasn't been backed etc

I'll take those same problems at the mo. Bearing in mind we needed a win against Villa away last season for Champions League and we drew, I find it a bizarre time to moan

If people can't enjoy winning 4-0 away, football truly is dying with the masses. Instant gratification required

We're consistently the 4th/5th best team in the country and yet all we do is moan. We're becoming Arsenal, I hope you realise that

Totally agree. There was one point on the edge of the area where he took it down on his chest, then his knee and then flicked it off to Walker with the outside of his foot. Sublime.

A bit late here with thoughts, outstanding display, but it was absolutley criminal that we didn't go in at least a goal up at half time. If that was Man Yoo, city, arsenal or chelsea they would have been a couple up, but credit to the lads, done the buisness in the 2nd half.

We seem to be getting our shape now, just need to at times, as in the first half to pass it that little bit quicker in phases, and also controlling the game which we now seem to be doing on a regular basis.

Also the team spirit seems to be great, Benoit, huddlestone, and kaboul tweets were great to read last night.
