Operating as the ‘Right hand’ of the Exec. Vice Chairman, predominantly in Corporate Finance and Corporate Development roles, with a very broad remit including strategy formulation, capital structure planning, business development, Football Institutional relations and investor relations (incl. as interim CFO for 9 quarters).

Key Achievements
• Integral part of the core team that successfully completed the IPO of Manchester United on the NYSE.
• Executed a number of refinancing transactions (incl. $225m bank term loans; $425m Private Notes and a $125m Revolving Credit Facility - reducing interest costs on c.$650m by 4.5% and extending maturities out 10-12 years); and devised and implemented an innovative hedge accounting strategy that minimised P&L FX volatility without incurring counter-party costs and maintaining cash FX exposure to USD.
• Led the feasibility study, business planning and application process to secure the licence from The FA that launched MU’s first professional Women’s team.
• Led the development of MU’s revamped scouting approach – incl. processes, systems and organisation structure.
• Led the assessment of the effectiveness of our Youth Talent development approaches; and established a clear strategy to improve the development pathways of talent from the Academy to the 1st team.
• Led the assessment of the blockchain enabled opportunities and how the club should approach the space – incl. blockchain and crypto exchange partnerships, NFTs, social tokens and virtual worlds.
• Led the development of the club’s ‘crawl walk run’ e-sports strategy – incl. the launching a PES team; and conducting a detailed feasibility assessment of establishing an e-sports tournament.
• Active member of a number of Premier League and European Club Association Taskforces – incl. UEFA Club media and commercial rights; revenue distribution for 2021-24; and the framework for the new JV that will commercialise the UEFA competition rights from 2024.
