Great watching us going forward and pressing for the ball. Defence shows Dier can't play in this system. Sanchez has the pace to cover. I really hope we can finally move Dier on.

Lots of positives to take. First 60 mins pre-subs was really good, and it was clear the reason we lost was tiredness. Our 2nd team more than stood up to Barca's first, and everyone now has a full game or thereabouts before the weekend.

We played without fear and I'm really looking forward to seeing us against Brentford at the weekend.

I've said it before and I'll say it once again, play like that and lose, and I won't be that disappointed.

With better players in the XI it won't be as bad either.

Reguilon at fault for most of those goals - more so than Dier in my opinion.

That's going to happen in this system though due to how Ange likes to use his fall backs and is exactly why we've gone for someone lightening quick in VDV.

What I want to see in pre-season is signs that there is a system of play and that the squad are buying in.

Ange has delivered in spades - I genuinely thought we'd get battered when we conceded the early goal, but we were at least equal and often better up until the last 5 or 10 mins.

We've got some poor 1 on 1 defenders, but we know this.

Very promising.

not sure number 4 can be levelled at Dier. He has to cut off the direct run at the goal. Not enough bodies on the backside.
The problem with dier is he lacks that defensive instinct and aggression. The third goal was shocking from him, just showed zero awareness for the threat.

Apart from the last 5-10 min there are lots of positives to take. Actually very happy with how we are starting to play.

What is 100% clear is that Dier has neither the pace or the mobility to play in Ange's back line.

Unfortunately Reggie and Dier don't look good enough as second stringers. They should be some of the first out the door along with ndombele.

Score line flattered them. We didn’t deserve to lose that game.

I think Ange got out of the game what he wanted - he saw some players he can rely upon, and some he cannot.

Its time to start moving some players out, and firming up this year's squad.
