I wish we had signed him straight after just to fuck them over, Willian style.

I hope we getting him on a free in January so we can smash the wage structure for him to really fcuk Conte off. But a full year of not playing could hurt him

Edit: according to ITK we almost Willian'd the bastard's but for January instead. Shows our pull is increasing with young players and the oil money now deterring players due to the failed youth system at Chelsea.

Sky had a graph detailing in's & out's earlier and Chelski let 41 players leave or go out on loan.
From youth players to senior (Sidwell springs to mind) they've really knackered a few players careers haven't they...

I think he's figured out that if his transfer fee is 10m less in January he can ask for higher wages. Brave move in a World Cup year though.

It's why I don't understand players at times. You know when a team is free spending they can get a better player than you instantly. It's career suicide unless you are one of the top players in the world. Delph and Sidwell are big examples. Great at their smaller clubs but you will only ever get a big paycheck from the oil clubs

The term star doesn't mean jack anymore. When we signed Foyth there were several articles saying 'Argentine star signed for Spurs'.

It's more that Adam has never played for Spurs and both him, the club and the fans seem to hate each other.

But yeah I take issue with 'star' too :sneaky:

He's rumoured to be out till December anyway so not much of a risk, I suspect we will get him in January.

.

Won't be free in January. Might not even be cheaper if other teams want him and a bidding war starts.

He could be our remedy for the pain of the Willian fiasco.

I think he clearly wants to go to Spurs. I wouldnt be surprised if the bid was accepted, he went down there possibly thinking that if Spurs thinks he's signing for Chelsea that it would force Levy's hand into putting in a bid thinking he would miss out on him. It didnt happen, so he rejected Chelsea as he didnt want to be there anyway, then went home.

You mean the team he already rejected?
You raise a good point. But we don't know the full circumstances or reasons.
The fact he agreed personal terms and travelled a few hundred miles for a medical suggests there's a part of him that could sell his soul to the devil.
