CL advancement still in our own hands, need help from nobody. Can't ask more than that after having played 2 of 3 matches away. Lloris, Vertonghen, Rose, Trippier, and Wanyama showed up and fought the battle for the rest of the team. Rest of the players need to sort out whether they actually want CL footie.
Think the attacking players were ok it was just a tough game. But seeing as we've played 2/3 away were in a good position, now we need to make Wembley a home!

Second game in a row A Dembele sub has made us worse. Poch needs to learn from that.

The he brings composure vacuum Sissoko on, to further compound our lack of control.

Very lucky to get a point in the end.

Dembele made a huge positive difference, get your eyes checked out

What?

No, it shows we are able to dig in and grind out points, even when playing badly.

So shows we ARE mature enough for the CL.

Jeez, I hope you didn't think we were going to go there and smash em

No. If we had ground out a result based on a solid controlled performance then I would have agreed. But we didn't. We lost the ball constantly, didn't show enough calm when on the ball and played straight in to their hands.

Some of our players have been playing abroad, thousands of miles away in the case of Lamela. I think they rested some players for this game and duly lost at the weekend. This was a good result.

Such a poor second half performance. Thought Lamela and Alli were very poor, couldn't keep hold of the ball at all. Eriksen was lacking any invention and played the ball back most of the time. Janssen was probably the better of the attacking players yet he was the one taken off strangely enough. Wanyama was an absolute beast, getting better each game and Lloris made good saves. Only 2 players I would really praise.

Woeful 2nd half performance. At times I thought I was rewatching England against Iceland again. A disorganised rabble, totally forgetting how to even pass the ball to a white shirt.

And despite being the better team in the 1st half, we managed just one effort on target in the 90 mins.

I know Leverkusen are no mugs, but that's not good enough really.

Leverkusen haven't held a clean sheet against English opposition for years apparently, I can't remember what the commentator said but the first thing that popped into my mind was "Until spurs..."

Well, I'm glad that's over! A well deserved point.
Two good quality teams in a very evenly balanced game.
Spurs won the first half.
Bayer won the second half.
We're sitting second having played two away games.
Bored of people just expecting us to dominate and win every game without understanding or appreciating the nature of an away game in Europe against a team who finished third in the Bundesliga last season. Geez - BL are a very good team and were playing at home. We didn't play poorly in the second half - they just played very well. We're both at about the same level.
Personally...I wouldn't have taken Janssen off.
Lloris was outstanding.
Wanyama really is an animal.
A good away point in Europe against a regular Champions League player - I'd expect us both to go through to the next round.

Said it many times, our 'back 7' ( first choice ) is absolutely top class. It's beyond that where we struggle.

Our attack was hideous to watch tonight.

Point from this, which I believe is the toughest game, is acceptable (though we urgently need wins now to progress). However after a very decent first half I wish we could see less of these games where we have a second half decline. Error strewn with and without the ball and any positive intent seemed to evaporate. I swear for the last 15-20 mins Danny Rose was the only one trying to go forward and had any belief and intent to try and win the game.

The result was ok, but that second half was extremely poor. There's no excuse for sloppy, lazy passing, it actually came across like a complete lack of effort. I just find it bizarre that we often look so poor against teams who press us, surely our players are used to it?! I already miss Toby, can't imagine we'd have shat ourselves so hard if we'd had his calming presence at the back today!

You miserable bunch of gooners. Regardless of the performance, an away point today was a good result. Leverkusen are not mugs and haven't lost at home since March.

So fucking well deal with it.

By the reactions of you lot, half of you will top yourselves if we lose to Bournemouth on the weekend.

I thought that the Germans worked extremely hard in that second half. Every time we were in an attacking position it felt like there were at least 4 players surrounding our man.

Good point away at the end, can Kane please come back soon though?
