But we will be able to increase our wages if we are successful.
Wages are carefully structured to fall within percentages of total income. As the income increases the wages increase. With regular CL revenue :)pray:) and a larger stadium we will be able to pay more.

I'm well aware of the theory. I'm waiting (and hoping) to see it put into practise.

If we did lose Sandro, and I would hope for 20m at least and if we did buy Hulk, and we kept Jenas I would be happy Cusop.

But Sandro is gonna be magnificent. He could be almost as good as Bale. But we do need strikers.

In all truth. I would only swap Sandro for Benzema. I would hate to see Sandro go. He is Jenas plus 10. I am Jenas plus 5.

Mascherano is interesting and a player we lack but would he be happy at being a squad player at Spurs? He does rate himself.

Masherano > Hudd I would anyways personally?

I'm not so sure. I would have agreed a season and a half ago cos the Argie is quality but Hudd offers time and presence to Modrics skill and guile.

But please dont think I wouldn't want Javier at Spurs. Just dont think Harry fancies him.

Funny that there are no rumours linking Harry's favourite Huddlestone, with Real Madrid or Barcelona, or with anyone actually...

Harry got lucky with Sandro in the same manner as he got lucky with Bale, as he had no options left but to play them when he appeared more than happy to leave them out. Unfortunately Taarabt and KPB never got a chance under Redknapp. The same treatment appears to be applied to Bostock.

Forget trying to get Charlie Adam, Joe Cole, Phil Neville and Craig Bellemy, when there are youngsters far superior already under his nose.

I'm sure Harry does his scouting at 10.30pm every Saturday night curled up on the sofa with Jamie.

 I was arguing with an Arsenal mate last night about the worth of Wenger and contrasting his approach to team building to Harry's, basically it came down to the fact that Harry wants a team for today and the season ahead and doesn't care if long-term it fucks up the club (speak to fans of his previous clubs and ask the what they think of Harry). The part of his job you can see he's really proud of his identification of veteran players whom others believe to be washed up, but who he gives a new lease of life to.

Well done him, unfortunately they're only good for a year or two during which time they command top wages, they have no sell on value and in the meantime they block the path to the first team of new talent. Contrast his approach to Wenger's.

Your point about his greatest player successes at Spurs are very valid ones. Neither Sandro or Bale would have got in the side but for injuries to others, in the case of Sandro an extraordinary number of injuries to CM players.

Look at the player he trumpets as the best signing, Gallas, on a free as he characterises it.

No one would argue that Gallas hasn't been great for us, but I'd challenge his smugness at the notion it was a free.

He's right in the narrowest sense but it's a meaningless concept. A player's cost is in reality a combination of the transfer fee you pay, his wages and the transfer fee you get when you sell him.

Take a player like Berbatov, he wasn't a free, we spent £10m on him, but sold him for £30m, his wages were £7.5m and so he was actually a net -£12.5m, money that could the be reinvested elsewhere in the squad.

Now consider Gallas, he was free, but his wages are £3.5m a year. If he stays with us for two years that will be a net cost of £7m. The difference in cost between Berbatov and Gallas is £20m in the Bulgarian's favour. That's money on the balance sheet that can be invested in the squad in one case and not in the other.

What about if we get Drogba on a free but for £5m a year wages? And Phil Neville for next to nothing but pay him £2.5m a year. In two years between the three of the that would be £20m off the balance sheet and then we'd have to find a way to replace them by buying in more expensive players, we could forget any focus on youth because their way to the first team would have been blocked by his veterans.

wtf? i guess im a sandro fan(ish), but surely it's a bit premature to suggest that the two biggest clubs in the world are after him.. He's no where near done enough to warrant that! ridiculous.

I really don't want to get into any arguments, but to be honest I love the way that we are building this club at the moment. We have got a very good mix of youth and experience, and to be honest, if Harry had gotten his way and maybe got Phil Neville or somone like him, you know the experience player with no sell on value, we may have grinded out results against lesser teams such as Blackpool, Wolves, West ham etc etc etc etc etc ect.... Because you need that experience, and we may have been closer to the league title or certainly have 3rd place wrapped up by now.

Contrast that to the Gypsies, and Arsene Wengers ideas, what the fuck has having no experienced players in the team won them in 6 years, plaese tell me, because I must be missing something?

You need both in this league, youth, which we have, Bale, Lennon, Sandro, Hudd etc, but experience also. harry is not perfect, but he knows what we need.

Lennon and Huddlestone are both 24 and in their 6th season with Spurs.
Surprisingly both are older than Cesc Fabregas who is still only 23.

Both are still young at 24, I am not relating them in anyway to Cesc. Just making a point to Sloth
