Is the word on FTL, although I've not heard the rumours.

Anyone heard anything?

In terms of short term RMF cover and raising our profile, this would be an excellent thing IMO. Plus a welcome morale boost for the second half of the season.

Would he get into the side? Lennon, Kranky, Gio, VDV, Bale, Modric, Pacious,Sandro, Jenas would all get into our Midflield before him.

He's better than Bentley though.

I'd love him to play for Spurs, but I don't think he'll play for a English side other than United again. This rumour seems to come around every year, too...

Expect 100+ messages saying, good-bad-qaulity-few years ago-not quick enough and delete as appropriate with everyone ending, won't happen though.

Every year the Beckham rumour comes around.

Doubt he would come to us. But I'd take him with welcome arms, he'd be an amazing embassador for the club, not just on the pitch, but for the club itself.

Awesome player and an even more awesome fella.

could be a space in the squad for him if we lose Bentley, Gio, Kranky and O'Hara as expected and he would add a winning mentality to the team, not to mention a shed load of shirt sales and world wide attention.

still a good player and would be able to cut the mustard as well as pass on his experience to the squad, and if it means we can actually do something with our set plays then im all for it

probably wont happen though

I echo what Shanks says.

Just to have the players training with him would be a bonus in itself. Whta they could learn from a guy who has been there done that worn the T shirt etc, it would be fantastic.

It would lift the staus of the club, everything about him joining would be a bonus.

Won't happen though ;-)

Aah, the Beckham rumour....must be nearly christmas!!

Heard it so many times, it's hardly worth even mentioning now.

Echo the sentiments above...would love him to come..good to have around the club..raise our profile..mentor the younger players..sadly, not gonna happen!

Who knows he might want 6-18 months in the Prem before bowing out. HR has a reputation for getting the most out of older players and maybe using Beckham sparingly could be a positive.

Beckham wasn't the most gifted player but he rose to the top with dedication and proved that you can become hugely famous and still perform every week on the pitch.

His influence on the likes of Lennon, Bale, Huddlestone etc could be massive.

I don't think it'll happen but whatever he offers on the pitch and merchandising isn't everything to me. His experience and professionalism could be his real selling point to us right now.

His Father is an avid Spurs fan and took Beckham as a kid to watch Spurs before he was hoiked off to Old Trafford as a lad to train with them.
This may be a sentimental journey for DB as well as a way to keep fit for a few months.

I'm sure he's said he wants an actual break from football before the next MLS season. Therefore it wont happen.

It would be awesome to see Beckham in a Spurs shirt. The guy is probably amongst the top 3 most famous people in the world, but it won't happen. He said he won't play for any other club other than United in the EPL. However since Beckham's grandad supported Spurs, there is slight hope.

Beckham wore a Spurs Tie to the service.

Wouldn't rule this move out though. CL and a return to the premiership (try and get his England career back)

Would give us another leader who has won almost everything he can. True pro as well.

Cannot see how anyone would be against this happening if rumours were in fact correct. Even from just a business point of view, it would be massive. His influence upon the younger lads in the side could also be enormous. Could be a quality impact player off the bench.
