Benny has never been the class LB that many seem to think, positionally awful at times and sloppy in possession, he is better than rose, but as I mentioned we do have vertongen who can fill in there......I wouldn't even consider fryers and naughton. I just think spurs as a club need the type of player who can lead and dig deep when required and not sulk if dropped from the first 11, if BAE was too class I could understand it all but he has been a steady performer that fans have taken a like to but he strikes me as disruptive. It's funny I didn't see the clamour for his recall under AVB. Lets hope we pick up a LB in January

I used to love Benny but the twitter post("great game tonight") and pic did it for me and now think hes a clown so get rid. Fact is that post was made an hour after the game had finished and between them they were holding 5 fingers up - even if that was an innocent mistake then he is obviously as thick as a whale omelette so we should get rid of him on those grounds!. Don't care what he thought of AVB, he was disrespecting everyone at the club so he can do one.
Exactly my sentiments entirely, the three and two fingers wasn't coincidence, I'd get shot of them both ASAP

Benoit is a good left back, probably better than our current first choice let alone the alternatives, he's had 4 good seasons and one bad in the last 5, he loves the club and the fans and he's still ours to use if we want him. It would be mental not to recall him.

Not quite sure why AVB gets so much flak for letting Benni go. We should never have entered a second season with 1 left back, but Baldini has to take a share of responsibility, because he could have vetoed it. Given his head, AVB would have offered Coentrao 2 billion quid a week.

Not convinced that the club has sent the right message over Adebayor.

You're not really making a great point for yourself with lines like this buddy. If he's better than Rose, what reason would we have to not bring him back? Vertonghen, in case you haven't noticed, looks visibly peeved with having to play LB. Not only does he not enjoy it, it weakens us in the heart of defence where, as one of the best CB's in the league, he should be playing every game.

It's an absolute no-brainer.

You probably wont read that, so I'll just post this instead...

I got slated for saying that last week but some on here are naïve enough to believe otherwise. Before last week I liked the fact that Benny is a bit of a character (the game certainly needs them) but never really rated him as a player. I believe Rose has the potential to be a whole lot better.

The point I am trying to make is sometimes you should sacrifice a bit of quality for principle, last year when Suarez was behaving the way he was no-one would have wanted him at the club despite his obvious quality, BAE in my view has taken the piss out of the team via twitter and because of that hasn't maintained certain values I'd see as vital moving forward, I'm not saying rose or vertongen are the answer just that I'd rather we started to put the club before some of the egos

For the umpteenth time BAE and Ade took that photo before the game, and both showed previous images of them making those stupid hand gestures in photos, pure coincidence that we lost 5-0

And secondly BAE didn't tweet "great game", he said "What a game tonight", which is a completely neutral phrase meaning a surprise result

Anyway who could blame them even if they did take the piss out of AVB, how would you feel if you performed your job admirably for five years and then a new boss comes in and tells you to feck off on sabbatical to another shitty company. I'd think he was a twat!

Naughton or Fryers at LB if Rose gets injured yaaaaaaay!

It would personally be my first bit of January business to recall Benny.

What really puzzles me is why Fryers is so off the pace. I mean he's trained at Man Utd and played at various England youth levels but each time I've seen him he looks well short of the PL gist. Contrast that to Bentaleb, Carroll et al and you wonder if we're doing a better job of bringing on the youngsters.

Sorry, wrong thread I realise.. as for Benni, I would be very happy to have him in the squad but barring the injury I think Rose is developing nicely into the position and offers us more going forward.

But you really can't beat Benni's coolness and control of the ball. He mugs off the opposition in literally every game and I'd be happy to have him around just to teach the others a bit of that composure.

As has been discussed before though I'm not sure we can recall him from QPR as per the terms of the loan agreement.

Exactly - Ferguson, Mourinho etc would never tolerate that at their club so why should we if we want to get anywhere. These sorts of people can breed resentment and create cliques that are destructive to a team mentality. Noone wants robots who can't think for themselves, but you do need everyone pulling in the same direction at least. Saw Benny was even scrapping with one of his own QPR teammates yesterday after he sent over another one of his rocket crosses that no one could do anything with!.

Benny led a mutiny against AVB when he's at a different club. I've heard it all now.

Would have him back in a heartbeat.

Unfortunately, once some people get an idea into their head there is no reasoning with them.

Could you imagine if Baldini vetoed Benni to QPR?

AVB would have had a stroke!

Regardless of what the hand gestures mean or don't mean, it was pretty stupid to post it straight after a 0-5 hammering and write 'great game tonight' this bloke is still employed by spurs, I think instances like this need to be a thing of the past, I would not put up with it

Wow. This is why governments are able to get away with what they want. They know that people are too stupid to form ideas of their own. Once they have something in their heads they are incapable of changing their opinions.
Really ask yourself if you honestly believe that. Why would they do that? Has either player ever done anything similar before? Both have explained but if they knew it would cause a furore, and they obviously would know that, why apologise?
It is just ridiculous.

FOR THE LAST FUCKING TIME HE DIDN'T SAY THAT.

Quote from twitter "What a game tonight....happy to see my man @E_Adebayor (LOL)"

I'm guessing he was shocked, like we all were. But he was happy to see his buddy, hence why putting up a picture of him and his friend.

Also worth noting that he thinks LOL means love our lives/life
