Pretty much a tie between Hojbjerg and Reguilon for me, but went with the former because of the year-2 buyback clause. I do think Reguilon could be sensational for us, though equally that the midfield is the most important area of the team in the Premier League and Pierre-Emile looks like he might dominate that area on his own for us.

Hart, not because he's particularly good keeper these days and Gazza would be my number 2 but he seems to be really switched on, he is incredibly hungry with a lot to prove and I think he will really aide the mentality of the group.

My mind changes every week. Started off thinking it was Doherty then thought it was PEH but now I think it’s Sergio. I’ve also gone from prior to signing Bale thinking that he would be injured all the time to now that we’ve signed him thinking he’s going to win us some Trophies. For purposes of the thread I’m going to go with Sergio as being the best signing as he’s still so young but looks very good already.

Yeah, you know what, I wasn’t happy with this signing at first as I like Gazza and think he deserves to be number 2 but I agree with everything you just wrote about Hart, I’m warming to him.

The other thing is that Jose isn't really sentimental so if Hart is playing or getting on the bench it is most likely to be because he's showing it in training or with the group.

As an individual player, only time will tell whether it will be Hojberg or Serge. The player with the greatest impact will be Bale for both the mentality and performance. Can you imagine playing in mid or defense knowing you have a choice to play forward to Kane, Bale or Sonny? You would have to believe that you are in every game even if you were down by two goals. On the pitch, you would have to think that between free kicks, long range shooting, and passing will open up opposing defenses. And that little bit of Bale magic will do exactly what Kane's presence does - attract that defender's attention a millisecond longer freeing up players off the ball which could make Sonny even more deadly (as well as Lucas surprisingly enough if he could only make smarter runs).

One signing that is a bit of a mystery is Trevor Birch. While i suspect that his impact on this particular period was incidental, his influence on the club's fortunes might turn out to rival that of Bale's.

Judging by how much Jose was banging on about communication in the Amazon documentary I think the massive gob Hart has got on him is also appealing to him. Which, as you touched on, will help our group mentality I think.

But yeah, no way is he going to carry on playing him if he starts fucking up on the reg, no matter how much he likes his communication skills. (I was going to say no matter how much he likes his gob but thought that sounded weird)

And Hart has the mentality to accept that and won't throw his toys out of the pram, he'll work harder, still help the team and try to regain that spot.

Went for Reggie, but if Bale is even 3/4 of the player he was when he left then he could absolutely tear up this disjointed, high line malfunctioning league this season. With Kane actually realising that he can come deep, playmake and still get his goals and Son and Bale going from out to in into the vacated space we could be devastating.

I went Reguilon as I think he could be a truly special player and having his pace, energy and inventiveness down the left flank makes us a completely different proposition. A true gamechanger that one.

I can barely get my head around Bale - for the energy and mood at the club he must be pivotal (and hopefully on the pitch too).

I also think you can make a good argument for Vinicius. Obviously the jury is still out, but it's actually a strange feeling to know that if we lose Kane we're not completely, monumentally fucked - we actually have a physical, goalscoring no.9 than we can bring on in his place. I never truly felt like that when we had Llorente or Janssen, so you'd probably have to go back to the days of Defoe and Crouch/Adebayor that I've felt so positive about our striking options.

Vinicius, assuming he's half decent and not another Jansen.

We can muddle along without certain players in certain positions, but without a proper striker we're either a lot less effective (if Son plays up top), or completely useless (if Son doesn't play).

He'll also help Kane to keep fit and fresh, as well as adding a new dynamic off the bench for the last 25minutes of matches. Both of these factors will add more goals to our season's tally. And goals mean prizes!

And he's only in his mid-20s!

It won't last, it's not how we do things here

Yeah but even these fleeting moments of unified happiness are rare. Lol.

It seems everyone is enjoying the moment which is great. You’re right, though, no doubt a bad performance and loss against West Ham would quickly change things and I’d probably be in that camp as well.

Tells you something when you bring in Bale and he is 3rd in the voting :D

It’s mad but totally understandable I guess with Bales age and injury record not being the best (but not the worst either) but as has been said if Bale even plays at 3/4 of his potential he’ll be best imo.

Reguilon is a staggeringly great buy but hard to get away from the fact that in Bale we have a genuinely world-class player and match-winner that will grab us 3 points/progression in cup games where previously we may have stumbled. Bale brings not only greater potency but a fear factor that few teams will be able to overcome.

What a time to be alive that we have genuine different options to vote for.

I went for the social media guy though!

Bending the rules and voting for a player 'new' to the Spurs squad for this season. Can't quite get a handle on why I have such an affinity for this player, but I think he'll be a hit...
