Two things I want to see in the second half;

Provide Davies with better protection, he's being exposed far too easily.

Sharpen up their speed of thought, they are pressing very well and seem to be one step ahead. Sort that out and we may start to offer something in attack.

I can see Son's intentions (occasionally!), but he seems to fiddle about with the ball as opposed to making a decision. I.e. pass or shoot. Seems to me, he is rusty in close ball control which is rendering his insistance on dribbling ineffective.

It looks to me like he's waiting for a run tbh but nobody is making one so he's not sure whether to pass to a static player or take on a low percentage shot. When Dortmund are around the box, all their players around the man with the ball are on their bike. I'm pretty sure that if you put Son in their team then he wouldn't be 'dilly dallying' around the box like he does in ours.

Another reason why we English struggle in Europe is that the EPL is so competitive, you have to be on it in every game to get a result. The top teams in Spain and Germany and France can roll over most teams. It is why we love the premiership but this is the cost

I think what's happened is Poch has realised that winning the league is an actual possibility or at worst finishing 3rd with automatic champions league qualification which no one really thought in the earlier rounds.

It's pretty poor if so IMO. No one thought we'd be challenging for the league but the same should really apply if it was just the top 4 we were close to getting, so to go full strength in earlier rounds to then say "oh, we're actually doing well in the league, now we're at the latter stages of Europa let's start resting players" is poor preparation to me.

It should be a youthful/different team the whole way or a youthful team to begin with and a stronger one as we progress, not to start with a stronger team and then suddenly put out a weakened one as we finally make the later stages. I know you have to adapt to circumstances at times but it just would have made more sense to have rested those players in certain group stage matches and to have used them here.

Hopefully Trippier can stay on. We need Dembele, Kane & Lamela on at some point. Some long-range shots from Kane may be our only hope of scoring

We've only got 3 first team starters on the pitch today, puts it into perspective and makes you realise how glad we should be it's 1-0.

We're very lucky it's only 1-0.

Dortmund playing 3 Centrebacks like West Ham did and rendering our attacks useless.
Davies is getting no cover from Son
We need some strength in the midfield so I'd like to see Dembele on.

Mason offers literally no protection to our back four, we are going to be in deep shit if we have to rely on either him or Nabil for the run in, I know the opposition is tough tonight but honestly Dier and Dembele are on another level compared to them. Done well to keep it at 1-0 because we could have been 4 down by now.

Of course Savage wants us to play our strongest team, he wants Leicester to have an easier ride in the league. I wish he'd stop bleating on about it, it's so boring - it's as if he's forgotten that he's not doing his usual job tonight of inciting fans to call a phone-in show...

It'll be made more annoying at the weekend by some other plank of a pundit telling us how we should be resting players in the Europa League.

You can't bloody win with these people FFS!

I'm so pleased with our line-up. This is a second rate competition but it's a big game and a fantastic experience for the likes of Onomah, Carroll, Trippier, Davies etc.

These players need minutes, too. We need sharp players to call on in our Premier League run in.

Dembele on for son please would even think of putting benteleb on for Carroll as well. We need more strength and discipline in midfield

It's more that the BPL has a ridiculous schedule compared to the Bundesliga. If we had a schedule like theirs we'd be able to rest more players and play our strongest team like they have...

Whilst many were excited about playing them I knew we'd have to rotate and with this team we can't match them. What do we prioritise? This or the league?

We'd have more chance beating Villa with this team than Dortmund.

Spurs meet football, you can kick it and even kick it to each other. Wanna know what's even better? If you kick it near their goal, the goal is the big rectangle looking thing at the other end of the park. Good luck

sorry but i don't agree, should have a stronger squad, can't expect dier, kane to play every game, BD had Bayern at the weekend and only made 2 changes from that game, if we going to rest players it should be for the villa game,if our 2nd string can't beat villa we can forget about any chance of the title. we knew how many games it involves being successful, build a squad to deal with it.

I believe most of you based on your comments thought that Borussia was a two bob team. One of the best in Europe and playing them away with a second eleven I think we have done well to curtail them. As tempting as it is, I would continue with this lie up for at least another 20 mins or so as this experience will do them well. Not the best performance by us, but neither is it the worse. Just get behind the team

Son shouldn't be written off just yet. If he's shit next season then I'll worry

going to be interesting to see what Poch can do at half time now that we've got a flattering 1-0 scoreline.. would be huge if we could manage an away goal today and then really go for it at the lane...
