Match: ____ Premier League - Match day 37

When: ____ Saturday May 4th 2019

Where: ____ Vitality Stadium

Kick Off: ____ 12:30pm

Referee: ____ Craig Pawson

Team Form: ____ Bournemouth LLWLD ____ Spurs LLWLL ___ (All competition)

Bournemouth have lost 6 of their 7 Premier League meetings with us (D1), netting just two goals in those matches. We have won 2 of our 3 PL away games against Bournemouth, winning 5-1 in 2015-16 and 4-1 last term. The other match finished 0-0.

We average 3.1 goals per game in the PL against Bournemouth (22 goals in 7 games), our best such record against any side in the competition. Bournemouth are winless in 5 PL home games (D2 L3), losing the last 2 in a row. They last lost 3 consecutively at the Vitality Stadium in April 2016. They have never lost their last home game of the season, drawing once and winning twice. The last time they lost their final home game in a league campaign was in 2010-11 in League One (1-2 vs Rochdale).

Until the end of January, we had won more away games (11) gained more away points (33) and scored more away goals (30) than any other PL side this season. Since then, we are one of just two sides not to earn a single point on the road along with Huddersfield (L5). We have lost 12 PL games this season, last losing more in a single campaign (15). Only 2 teams have ever lost more than 12 PL games and still finished in the top 4 – Chelsea in 1997 – 98 (15) and Everton in 2004 – 05 (13).

Son has scored 5 goals in his last 4 PL games against Bournemouth – against no side has he scored more in the competition (also 5 vs Watford). Eriksen has either scored or assisted a goal in 6 of our 7 previous PL meetings with Bournemouth (3 goals 4 assists). The only game in which he didn’t ended 0-0 in October 2016.

Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson has been directly involved in 10 goals in his last 9 PL games scoring 6 and assisting 4.

Five away losses on the bounce in the league, could really do with nice controlled start to the game. We're going to need Sissoko in the middle to control things and break forward through congested areas, and I'd give Vinny a run out from the start.

All of our rivals have very winnable games so there is absolutely no room for fannying about tomorrow. 1-3 Spurs win to keep the Goons and Count Partridge below us.

We need 100% focus on this game first, and then we can look to Ajax on Wednesday.

Need to put 100% into this. Full strength team required. Absolutely no room for failure. Win tomorrow and its an amazing achievement to get CL football sorted for next season, regardless of the outcome of weds.

Get it out the way. Build up some good feeling before weds. Win that, rest against Everton and then beat Barca in the final. Lovely jubbly

Early 2 goals, you mean.

Last time we went 1-0 up on the South coast we played like the game was won after 30 minutes and ended up losing.

We forgot this sometimes. Look at the celebrations when we qualified again City in 2010. Qualifying means alot to the players and a boost like that could carry into next week.

With Sonny and Sissoko in the team I think we'll win this one.

Bournemouth aren't a particularly good team, who haven't been in the best of form in 2019.

Just hope Poch sets us up correctly from the start.

Believe!

Bournemouth are a decent side with some standout players such as Brooks, Fraser, and Wilson. They have, however, been rocked by key injuries to Surman and Lewis Cook which have stretched the squad.

They will be tough to beat more due to our own injury and form issues but if we turn up the quality in the side - especially the return of Son should see us through.

Let's hope we go strong, hold our nerve and ensure that we have qualified for the CL this weekend. Achieve that and the pressure is really off on Wednesday and we can enjoy it!

Brooks, Solanke, Gosling and Adam Smith all face fitness tests. Given Howes comments earlier in the week it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that they’ll all miss out to go with long term absentees Cook, Daniels, Francis, Surman and Stanislas. Really no excuse not to go and get the 3 points here. Please god, let us get the 3 points.

The Poch part is key. None of this 3 at the back shite. It just invited too much of the ball being withheld in our own half. 4-2-3-1 is must be, the formation which brought us so much joy in recent years. Hugo, KWP, Davo, Toby, Davies, Mousa, Dier, Eriksen, Dele, Lucas, Son

Get the 3 points
qualify for CL,
Dial up positivity, momentum confidence for Ajax
prevent everything going down to the wire
against Everton,
settle my newly discovered ulcer,
ease my increasing heart rate
and if possible play well

Lloris
KWP - Sanchez - Toby - Davies
Sissoko - Dier
Eriksen - Alli - Son
Lucas

Should be enough to get a win against them!

How has Bournemouth away become a big game for us, ridiculous position to put ourselves in but there we go. We have been horrendous to watch away from home recently, except City and Liverpool.

But here we are, lets do this, get some confidence for Wednesday. A win would give us all a good weekend and a positive mindset going into the Ajax game....lose.....I don't even want to think about that.
