Usyk is an absolute master of getting in and out of range after landing his own shots. I can’t see Fury’s tactics of grabbing and leaning etc having a lot of success against him. His footwork is so insanely good that he can get out of range in whichever direction suits him best at the time. When he was at cruiserweight in his prime he was absolutely mesmerising but he’s still far too good at it now for Fury to pin him down in my opinion.
His footwork is outstanding (top top tier) but then again Fury is no slouch himself in the lateral movement department.

it will be interesting to see how that plays out as i don’t think Usyk has the power to stop Fury and i’m not sure Fury will be able to get the leverage to land a stoppage on Usyk either.

Fury to get an “injury” and the December bout with Usyk won’t happen. He looked way off it, didn’t take it seriously at all and I hate to say it I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s been back on the gear.

I’m not saying he wouldn’t take Usyk seriously but his corner must be concerned after that showing.

I can't remember who it was on the radio - Adam Catterall, maybe? Couple of weeks ago they asked if Fury was actually the dominant champion he claims to be. He's had only six world title fights, three of them against one guy, has openly dismissed a chance at fighting Usyk, swerved Joshua by saying he wouldn't give them more time to sign then announced Chisora two weeks later, and now we get this fight to add to that...

He's certainly no dosser in the ring, nobody could say that, but I do think they have a point worth discussing.

I’ve heard people compare him to Lennox Lewis and it’s a truly cringeworthy comparison. Lewis ducked absolutely no one, carried himself with class throughout his entire career and is up there with the top 3-5 heavyweights of all time in his prime. Fury would be extremely lucky to make the top 10 for me.

This is catterall annihilating the fury narrative this past two years. And to think this was before the shit show last night. Catman 100% right in everything he says here.

Hands up, I love both sports but MMA is where I’ve spent more of my time these last 20 years. The thing I found interesting, that makes complete logical sense but I somehow failed to see ahead of time, was just how Francis was easily able to take away one of Fury’s weapons - clinching, overpowering and tiring out with weight and some dirty boxing. Francis is an athletic freak and being an MMA guy he’s spent a lot of time in clinches in training and fights. He’s also improved his wrestling over the last 4 years and is just used to grappling and the energy sapping effect of it. Fury was shook by how easily Francis would deal with his clinching by overpowering and throwing him off or even just creating room in the clinch and dirty boxing

Considering how he managed the Fury fight, Ngannou wouldn't struggle to come up with a plan for Joshua, unless we see a hugely different AJ turn up next time he gets in a ring.

Just watched the press conference for Fury/Usyk - exactly what you expec... wait, is that Sylvester Stallone, for some reason?!? :D

Weird press twist but other than that random moment it was what you'd expect. All showboating from Fury and Usyk staring at him like he's a mad man. Which he is.

Looks like Fury has lost a lot of the crowd though, plenty of people saying they hope he loses, that Usyk puts him in his place, etc.

I agree with your last paragraph for the main reason that he’s been ducking fights for too long… I was dreaming of a golden heavyweight era, dominated by British fighters but it sadly wasn’t to be.

Anyone watching the Katie Taylor/Cameron rematch?

Hard fought match with Taylor winning after 6 rounds.

Is there any legal way to watch the boxing tomorrow night?

I have DAZN but it appears to be yet another fight night not available in the UK.

It will be on TNT sports box office mate, will be expensive as hell though, no doubt.

I think it’s PPV on TNT and DAZN. £20 I think, well worth it as it’s a deep card. Dubois with three fights after him says a lot considering he should be defending three of the belts right now.

Thanks. Wasn't aware DAZN had this on PPV.

Have paid and looking forward to it.

Interesting interview with John Fury. Basically a 27 min rant largely about the useless people in Tyson Fury's camp. He contrasts that with Usyk's people who he rates very highly.
