Just been watching a few clips on youtube. He is funny, but he's also a twat. I would've loved to have seen more of him, can you imagine how long he'd last nowadays?

The 1st clip is an appearance on some sort of Saint & Greavsie show, watch til the end when he talks about Alan Sugar. And he's drunk.

The second clip is an interview with Motty. He really doesn't hold back in this thoughts, does he.

And of course the vid where he hits loads of supporters who run on the pitch

The best manager England never had.

The stuffed shirts in the FA wouldn't have him because he was too outspoken.

Also a very good footballer by all accounts until injuries finished him early.

Odd that you're watching vids of him today. I was watching vids of him yesterday.

If you haven't read it, I really recommend this. Legend of a manager, and of a man too. I think the person he was in later life was, like in the top video, is an unfair representation of him, and one brought on by heavy drinking. Before his alcohol problems, he had a heart of gold, often donating money to charity anonymously, or helping out a stranger in the street if he felt they needed it. Brian fucked up in later life, and he knews it. He had his problems, but don't we all?

He'll go down in footballing history, and rightly so.

Even though he had his alcoholism he's still a legend.

As Bomber says he wouldn't last one show these days and we are the poorer for it. Who really prefers Dwight Yorke to Brian Clough as pundit?

He had his faults and failures but in a way that makes him more human in my eyes.

What he did at Derby and Nottingham was remarkable and something that sadly may not happen again with all the money in the game.

Here's a shout out to Peter Taylor too, one of the best ever assistant managers.

I remember my Old Man tells me how the headline the day after that incident was 'the shit hits the fan'!

He was also extremely homophobic. Great manager, did wonders for Forest and the game with his outspoken attitude but what he did to Justin Fashanu can't be ignored.

Forced him out of Notts Forest for being a 'poof', and apparently he regularly bullied him about his sexuality - Clough did later say how he regretted his handling of Fashanu.

Clough was clearly a great manager who did good things for football but it's things like this which get forgotten and covered up.

Things like that would not happen to the same extent now. Clough is from a different generation whereby homosexuality was seen very differently.

Not condoning it, just saying I understand it.

Of course, a different generation that I didn't even live in, but it still began a chain of events that led to a young guys suicide which is often forgotten - society has changed since then, for the better in that respect.

This is not to say he wasn't a great manager, a great character and did good things for the game but this was a regrettable episode in Clough's career.

I Watched a Brian Clough documentary on Virgin media on demand the other day, it was fantastic, he was a great manager who really got the best out of his players.

its awful what happened to him with his drinking, also a big regret he never got to win the FA Cup.

He just come across as a complete **** to me, and I struggle to have respect for him for that reason.

As i see people choose what happens to them when drinking

Alot of great stories and an interesting person in many ways but a story like the one shelfside mentioned or seeing him take swings at fans makes him a nut really.

I really enjoyed the movie "Damned United" though and of course you have to be impressed by his results at Derby and Forest. I think it's quite important not to forget Peter Taylor when having success at Derby though.

Was that documentery on tv or? Can i find it somewhere on the net?
