Spurs are willing to part with £17million for Turkish striker Burak Yilmaz, according to reports in Turkey.
The newspaper Aksam says that Spurs are preparing a bid for the 27-year-old, who has become hot property in Europe after a sensational first season with Galatasaray.
His eight goals in the Champions League brought Yilmaz to the attention of many top clubs, and Spurs would face competition from Atletico Madrid and Fiorentina.
The forward caught Galatasaray's attention with a stunning 33 goals in 34 games at Trabzonspor, and while he was watched by teams from Italy and Germany, it was Gala who took the gamble on the forward last summer.

I'd take him for somewhere between £12-15m. However I'd prefer someone with more flair, creativity and athleticism.

We've been here before, he had a £5m buyout clause last summer.

He's like a 'younger' version of Drogba but a better finisher.

I lived in Istanbul from 2011-2012 and one of my roommates was a massive Trabzonspor fan so I've seen a fair bit of him, not sure he'd be an upgrade on Defoe tbh. This would've been a tidy bit of business last summer but for the fee Galatasaray will want there are surely better options available.

Was a no brainer last season... different kettle of fish this year, too expensive now.

Was/am filthy we didn't gamble on him last year.

Gala got a ridiculous deal. Small fee and now he's under contract for reportedly around €44,000/wk until at least 2016.

Well, with a week's worth of Soldado roller coaster under our belts, let's talk about Burak Yilmaz :playful:

He could be the next one on the horizon - any confirmed valuation out there? about 12 mil pounds (guessing). Seems a tall/strong player, but I have not seen him play a full match yet,... on my way to do some youtube scouting :borg:

Could he be the answer (deal) DL is looking for?... :mask:

EDIT: nevermind, just saw he's 28 just like Soldado,... not really what DL is looking for... :bookworm:

No thanks, especially not at such an extortionately high price.

At less than half the price of Soldado he would be.....

Would not be opposed. 8 goals in 9 Champs League games is nothing to balk at.

This guy is class and knows how to score, exactly what we need. Very surprised at the negativity in this thread.

58 goals in 93 games from Trabzonspor.
24 goals in 32 games with Gala.
8 goals in 9 UCL games.

He scores goals, can lead the line, is an intelligent player, and is at his peak. Seems strange that there's not more positivity and not more links.

A replay of last year's champions League game galatasaray vs schalke is on TV here in the states right now. Based off of this game (my first time watching him) alone, he looks a real talent. It's only 20 mins in and he's scored a very class goal and made some great runs. I'll post a vid of the goal when I get back on my desktop

this guy would score 20 goals a season for us, no doubt

Seems too obvious a choice for us to be actually interested in him though!
