This is actually a game for Lamela

He plays the cute through balls and stuff
Not only that but he's quite aggressive in possession and his ability to move the ball quick with his back to goal.

A typical 1st half display against another anti football team. Hopefully Poch has identified areas we can exploit. One thing that bothers me about Kane's positioning today, he's too close to Rose, for example, instead of putting himself in the middle or the far side of the box giving the crosser a target, he's making it too easy for the defenders!!

Kane shouldn’t have started, Llorente should’ve

I don’t know if we should stick with 3 at the back for much longer In the second half, we will get more frustrated as times goes on we need a early goal in second half
Kane needed to get his sharpness as quickly as possible.

Rather find out he's not quite up to speed and change it than bring him on needing something from the game to find out he's not quite up to speed.

Having said that i think he's been OK.

Llorente for Rose in the second half, Vertonghen on the left and Llorente & Kane up top with Eriksen Behind and Son in a free roll where he’s everywhere

Burnley managed to keep up a near-continuous press for not quite a half-hour, but we managed to deal with it, conceding only a couple of chances. Eventually, inevitably, they had to back off and we gradually took more of a grip on the game. They'll surely have another go at some point and we have to hope we're ahead by then.

They've also defended very well, restricting our penetration and harassing our attackers so all of our shots and headers have been patted tamely at Heaton. Sissoko took a long time to come into the match, but in the last 20 minutes, started off some very good attacks and put out a few fires. Kane is playing his part and showing good movement, but he's being well-defended by Tarkowski. Son looks dangerous and Eriksen is starting to make things happen.

Our main difficulty has been a lack of nous on the right side of our defence. Foyth and Aurier look as if they have a suicidal error in them at any moment. That said, their best chance came against Alderweireld.

Tight game, not at all clear where it will go from here. Much depends on whether Burnley will tire.

Weathered the early storm
slowly unfurling the sails
heading towards sound harbour
Not time to drop anchor yet
scuttle their boat with pace and aggression.

Pretty turgid half. Not easy with a hardworking opposition just playing the percentages and aided by the wind making everything hit up into the air a lottery, but we've moved the ball too slowly and there's not enough intent to our play. A couple of moments there at the end of the half were great examples, had a bit of possession at last, worked shooting opportunities edge of the box for both Son and Winks, and yet both then want to make another pass for some reason. Test them out and stop making it easy for them.

Individually everyone really needs to step it up, they could all really go up a gear and a few of them have looked slow of foot and mind. Not overly impressed with Kane on return, he's been neat and tidy and made one run in behind, and is slowly getting into it which hopefully bodes well for the second half, but for the first half hour it was like playing with 10 men as he did his dreaded 'stroll around in the number 10 position' luxury job that seems to happen whenever his fitness is in doubt......

Easy to say now because the game is going nowhere, but we could really do with Ali here.

Also feel we need a better performance from Eriksen. He’d been a bit too passive so far.

Also, I'd rather not watch football than be a fan of Burnley. Imagine paying hundreds of pounds for a season ticket, only to watch that anti-football shit from your team every week. Their training sessions probably consist of determining who can kick the ball highest and furthest and then Dyche picking his 1-11 depending on who was the 11 players that could kick it highest and furthest.

Fuck Mike Dean too.

Yep he’s been alright but Llorente should’ve started and Kane play 30 or so minutes

I really hate the way Burnley play. Anti football
They’re worse than Stoke were. To call them vanilla would be an insult to vanilla. They’re completely devoid of any flavour or spice. Someone mentioned they’ve no black players. Completely unsurprising, too exotic for them. They’d get the runs. Their manager’s a ginger bouncer who belongs on Phoenix Nights. Fuck em.

Why are people getting frustrated? Everyone on here before the game said Burnley would play like this and it will take time to get the goals we want and so far it is going exactly to plan. Did people say all that thinking it would really be an open game and we'd score easy? We will win, they are falling further and further back and that is not good news for them.

The Burnley defence seem to be afraid of tackling when our players are in their 18-yard box. A player like Moura, with his dribbling skills would be handy in those situations.

Because we are angry our thoughts have become reality. We want 12 goals and 6 sendings off for Burnley. It’s how we roll.
