What are the odds on us stringing Wilson along for a couple more weeks, flirt with someone else (Quison?) in the meantime and end up missing out on both?

Ahh, you've done one of these transfer windows before I see! :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

It feels a bit like that on everything at the moment.

This is exactly what will happen, we Always leave ourselves short in one position every window

Wilson makes so much sense.

Homegrown, international player with pedigree and available.

We should be desperate to get it done.

Agreed. However if we leave ourselves short in the striker position, again, it'll be calamitous. 2 or 3 games a week for the first few weeks of the new season. Kane and Son will be on their last legs before they've even started!

Let's not panic yet though. I'm sure the club know what they're doing. Right...... Right?

If Kane and Son actually did a bit of rotation that wouldn't be a problem in my opinion.

Not that I'm "worried" that we won't get another striker. Mourinho was very direct about what he felt about the situation during the season.

Personally I hope we try for King instead. If we sell Lamela King would be a better forward than Wilson and he can challenge for minutes as a "wide forward"/winger. King is also very well suited for "Mourinho-ball" as he is well used to playing up front alone for Norway earlier. A role that suits him very well.

At the same time it's very early in the window.

There is going to be some absolute crazy bargains the later it goes.

Not sure how much experience Quaison has playing as an out and out striker, winning aerial balls and serving as a focal point of play. I still think that is a real need in the side, and while I don’t necessarily think Wilson will provide that either, but he’s certainly more of an out and out striker.
If you’ve watched Wilson though the amount of goal scoring ability Quaison shows is barely comparable: all of Wilson’s goals are rebounds, tap ins, or headers, don’t think I’ve ever seen him take players on and score from outside the box. Definitely want Quaison.

I absolutely expect us not to get one in. It’s the most expensive position to recruit in.

Is this Quaison all that? His goals and assist record is pretty pap.

Spot on, been thinking this for months, would be a much better option with his all round game.
I can’t believe he hasn’t already signed for someone!

He's also HG.

As a Swede I'm not overly excited by the Quaison link.

I do like Quaison and he has looked decent when he has played for the Swedish national team (haven´t watched a lot of him in Bundesliga), but I´m not too sure if he´s good enough for us. He only really had one season where he has produced good numbers. Also he's not really a striker, more like an attacking midfielder or a second striker. A bit similar to Dele if I have to compare with someone in the current Spurs side. Even though I would love a Swedish player in Spurs, I would pick Wilson ahead of Quaison without a doubt.

I feel like we’re more likely to go into the season with Kane as our only recognised striker than sign a decent striker like Wilson.

Wilson would be great business imo but we always seem to chance our arm with only Kane

If we don’t secure a striker signing before the EL starts then I would have doubts we will sign one after that

Im sure we will sort that out (opinion). Last season made it abundantly clear that another striker is essential.
