Im sure we will sort that out (opinion). Last season made it abundantly clear that another striker is essential.
My only (minor) worry is that we do get in Wilson and he essentially becomes a Lamela for us.

As in he's a great bench/coverage option except he's injured when we need him most.

I hope so mate but it seems like we’ve been doing this for years even pre-Kane. Don’t get me wrong we tried with Janssen and in fairness Llorente did a job but we’ve never had anyone to fill you with too much confidence. I’d be pretty happy with Wilson

28, 30 and 35 league games in the past three seasons reassure young?

Im be more inclined to expect us not to sort it out actually. We’ll by another winger who can apparently play up top rather than actually buying a goal scorer

By hook or by crook we will sign another striker before the end of this transfer window, no doubt about that, Jose is not stupid he knows this is a massive limitation and if we are to have a genuine chance to compete for any sort of trophies and success we need a more balanced squad and a huge part of that will be to find a striker who can play with or instead of Kane.

I was surprised too given his reputation.
I think sometimes people look at number of games missed out of context. Wilson has had two (?) serious injuries which have caused him to miss large chunks of football, but has been fine outside of those "one-off" ocurrences. Lamela's a bit different in that his issues have been more of the chronic variety - no professional sportsperson is going to be fully functional having spinal and pelvic issues.

Agree that we will get someone but what scares me is the timing, especially with 8 games in the first 3 weeks. We need to have bodies ready to go from the jump or we will kill Harry in September.

Yep. We need a PL ready striker in by the start of the season. Same with RB. Cant be pulling the classic wait for deadline day on these 2.

As far as I'm concerned this is the next most important signing for us and hopefully we are working on it now. We are desperate for a backup to Kane and in my opinion he ticks most of the boxes.

Jose was prepared to wait in January but has since made it perfectly clear that he wants another striker.
I would be amazed if we don't sign one (and pretty terrified of the consequences!).

Didn't you read the update from Herc? Subject to us being happy with his medical history it will happen.

Bournemouth will not let £30m Callum Wilson to leave for cut-price fee despite Tottenham interest in signing striker as Harry Kane understudy
  • Tottenham are keen to sign a back-up striker as understudy to Harry Kane
  • Callum Wilson in among handful of names but £30million valuation is problem
  • West Ham, Everton and Crystal Palace are also interested in England forward
  • Bournemouth are unwilling to let Wilson leave the club for a cut price
Bournemouth will not let leave England international Callum Wilson leave on the cheap despite interest from Tottenham.

Spurs will turn their attentions to finally signing an understudy to Harry Kane after completing their swoop for keeper Joe Hart on Tuesday.

Wilson is among the names Spurs are considering in their search for a bona-fide back-up striker to Kane - though his £30million valuation could prove a stumbling block with Jose Mourinho working to a stringent budget

Mourinho wants to bolster his striking options this summer having watched his team's Champions League options flounder without Kane last season, who missed much of the campaign through injury.

West Ham, Everton and Crystal Palace are also keen on the 28-year-old - and the fact those clubs could be willing to offer Wilson more regular first-team football may prove a factor.

Wilson is a proven top-flight goalscorer and has been a regular in the England squad, scoring once from his four caps.

Indeed, Bournemouth, having already sold Nathan Ake to Manchester City for £41million, are unwilling to allow one of their prized assets to leave for a cut-price fee - despite the player's obvious desire to continue playing top-flight football.

Tbf Bournemouth don't really need to sell as they've already sold Ake for 40m and Ramsdale looks like he's off for 18m

Anything over 20m and we should walk away imo.

They actually still do. They had a shortfall to make up plus there wage bill didn't account for relegation
