Can you see Zokora getting back in the team?

With the way we are playing at the moment I think he is going to struggle to walk straight back in. A month away from training, and Ramos' indoctrination of the squad to get them playing "his way", is not going to work in his favour. The other players have all stepped up while he has been at the Africa Nations and I can see him warming the bench at best upon his return.

I think he'll get a few games here and there, but will be a rotation player rather than a permanent starter.

Can see him leaving in the summer if he doesn't up his game significantly.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Zokora back in the team when he returns to be honest.

Ramos seemed to rate him and played him in midfield again once we had enough defenders fit to allow him to do so.

I have no idea who I want to see alongside Jenas though to be honest, as before today it would've been Tainio or maybe O'Hara but now Huddlestone played well too!

Good problem to have!

Unless he learns to play a proper screening role in front of the defence his chances could be limited.

Depeds really, Juande seems happy to rotate Jenas' partner almost every game. I was surprised to see Hudd today, as I expected Tainio to come back into the midfield after his performance against Arsenal.

Zoko is a professional player with a great attitude, he will not expect to go straight back into the team, but he is valuable becuase of his (recent) versatility, and Ramos seems to have liked what he has seen of him so far.

This is true. And he did precisely the same at Sevilla: Poulsen would nearly always play, and he would rotate his partner - sometimes on a 60 minute/30 minute split. I think this is for two reasons: firstly, he likes his CMs to play at a high tempo; and secondly, he likes horses for courses.

My suspicion is that Zokora will see more time as a defender (rather than as a midfielder) when he comes back from the ANC. And then it will depend on who we can get in during the summer. If we get a Lucho or a Tiago type in midfield, and another top CB (dependent on Ledley's long term fitness), Zokora may not want to hang around as a back up squad player.

for sure, he is still important for the team, not just as Mid., it is also as center back instead of Dawson. Mr. Dawson always doing right but with one or two mistake, he killed us !!

Zokora simply isn't the player we hoped. Commoli is absolutely in love with the guy, but ultimately he isn't good enough to play CM, although he may be good enough to play in the center of defence.

Zokora never really warranted a place in our midfield anyways. Maybe in defense when we had a shortage. I feel like Taino, O'hara, and Huddlestone all add more. Huddlestone at home as has been mentioned is superb. I feel like Taino has the same grittiness, less athletic ability, but a better passing game than Zokora. O'hara gives us a little in set piece taking and gives us passing that Zokora doesn't. He can get stuck in from time to time as well. I don't hate Zokora though, its not personal or anything. He seems like a real good guy and I wish he was a real quality midfielder because he'd be fun to cheer for, but he just doesn't have the necessary attributes to consistently be put in our Starting XI.

He will get games but he wasn't missed, not by a long shot. All of our players will have to play their hearts out, just the way it should be.
