Sounds like a lot better choice then Bywater.

Lets get it done without any fuss....and focus on the big 3 signings.

1st Arshavin (Keane role)
2nd Corluka (CB and RB)
3rd Veloso (DCM)

That would be perfect for me.

There is something to the combination of DirtyDave and Sanchez that makes me want to read this thread. Not sure what though.

just found this...
More on the story that Cesar Sanchez may be about to leave Zaragoza for Tottenham. The 36 year old goalkeeper has been told by the Zaragoza coach, Marcelino, that he has no future at the club and has been training separately from the rest of the group. According to the Aragonese local paper, Heraldo, Spurs have offered to take the player off of their hands, provided Zaragoza are prepared to continue paying 40% of his wages. With the former Real Madrid keeper having signed a new contract last September and Zaragoza eager to reduce their wage bill in the Spanish second division, Spur's offer may hold some appeal. The London club are reported to have set a deadline for a response at midnight tonight (now yesterday).

Started the Champs Lg Final against Berby and Leverkausen in the one where Zidane scored that cracking volley. I guess he is much better than Bywater then.

Cesar is a very good keeper, who's used to being Number Two at a big club. Real Madrid kept him for five or six seasons, when Casillas was relatively young and inexperienced, and that has to be a good indicator of his quality.

I have little doubt that we're in for him, and suspect it's a case of negotiating his wages and potential fee (or loan) with Zaragoza. So far, Zaragoza have been putting ridiculous prices on their players: eg Milito and Sergio Garcia, so it may be yet another set of very tedious negotiations.

Sky sports too now:

Tottenham have agreed a deal with Real Zaragoza for goalkeeper Cesar Sanchez, according to reports in Spain.
Spurs and Zaragoza have been locked in talks over the past few days and now terms have been brokered.
Cesar, 36, will join on an initial season long loan after Spurs agreed to pay around 70 per cent of his salaray.
Cesar is now on North London undergoing a medical before he pens his contract with Spurs.
The signing of Cesar will end Juande Ramos' search for a number two for new first choice keeper Heurelho Gomes.

He's 36, nearly 37, yet they expect we'll buy him after a season long loan? Surely at that age he'll only be with us for the year.

Good deal. Get him on loan for a year and see how the likes of Alnwick and Button progress in the next year.
