Havertz is very tidy and seems to have a great touch, but still haven’t seen him do anything particularly creative.

Bit conflicted during the group stages this season. Want the 'big' sides to do well enough so they don't drop into the Europa just to maximise our own chances, but at the same time hate it when they do do well.

Edit: Teehee! "do do".

He actually reminds me a lot of Alli when he's played deeper.

Two tall, lanky, not especially quick, goalscorers who are renowned for their creativity and technique but really thrive when played closer to goal and get a bit lost when played deeper.

They are stylistically quite different in other ways - Havertz is a bit silkier, a better dribbler and more economical in possession, while Alli is a master of finding pockets of space in the box and timing runs - but I think they both thrive in the same kind of areas and kind of need the team to be built around them.

In this deeper role Havertz looks...fine but he flourishes higher up the pitch with runners around him. I don't think he really suits Chelsea's current system tbh. Or maybe he just needs more time to settle.

And he got a yellow card too...
Yeah, its pathetic. Whats the point of picking the best 11 you can, coaching them every day. Working out tactics, motivation and everything associated with winning a match... and then someone blasts a ball at you and it flicks up, hits your arm, and they get a penalty!!! For that?????
Its not why the handball law was brought in. It was to stop cheating.
The powers that be really are trying their best to ruin football and I have to say they're doing a bloody good job.

Chelsea are menacing going forward. that 4-3-3 they were playing with Pulisic, Werner, Ziyech, and Havertz with Kante sitting was really good.

I hate to say this but they have spent that money well. Ziyech is ridiculous.

They are excellent going forward but they were playing some Europa fodder tonight.

Of fucking course they get the benefit of a tight (but obvious enough) offside call.

something wrong with my eyes, thought Greenwood was clearly offside there.

Leipzig don’t look anywhere near as dangerous as when we played them, yet are top of the Bundesliga.
