I thought he was offside all day long but looked like the top of the sleeve was keeping his right foot onside...

Whether right or not, the letter of the law - that was onside.

You’ve just described the complete absurdity of the offside laws there.

It’s level. VAR is making everything too detailed. By the law though it’s offside. But common sense and how we’ve played the game for decades says it’s level

That may be the case if the VAR official correctly drew the blue line. Except he didn’t. You can actually see a tiny white bit of Greenwood’s boot poking out at the end of the blue line. The idiot in charge of VAR has drawn the fucking line over Greenwood’s boot.

Ok im laughing but not at you meat curtains but at the fact that youre right and by the letter of the law he is offside BUT it would be absurd to have those as offsides - but you are right BY the letter of the law

I didnt see that photo

probably about the same margin by which our goal (was it Serge or Sonny, I can’t remember) away v Leicester was ruled out.

those sort of margins are a ridiculously small to be calling either way on. maybe there could be some sort of ‘umpires call’ margin as in cricket?

Dortmund dominating Zenit right now but they’re struggling to open up the box. Zenit with ten men inside. Gio Reyna such a talent and only 17 yrs old

Ypou just do away with the lines and allow the ref to view the incident again on replay hell even in slow motion - but no lines...

People forget the reason why offsides were given incorrectly was because the game got too quick for officials to make a decision in real time. It wasnt because of no lines.

good shout. only trouble i see is camera angles make a massive difference. but regardless, i thought VAR was brought in mainly to get rid of the absolute howlers, which your suggestion would.

Morata, ruled offside again. 11 goals ruled offside in the past 10 months for him. Incredible.

They'll give this to United. Even though the linesman put his flag up.

At least they made the right decision I guess, he was clearly in his own half.
