One of the biggest issues with sitting back is that your midfielders start by being conservative which means that when they receive the ball two things happen. One they look for the long pass immediately or two, they are not sharp enough so they need two or three touches but they are also pressed immediately which leads to turn over.
When you play on the front foot, your touch is sharper, your awareness is better. The times we've threatened is because we pushed higher up and became more aggressive.
