I think its safe to assume that if he comes in, Kane will go out on loan, so the "I'd rather give game time to Kane" argument is irrelevant. We dont know the full situation regarding Ade, imo we are forcing him out, so we will need a 3rd striker.

I don't think that argument is irrelevant. With our completely lackluster loan history (for the most part), I have little faith that if Kane is loaned out he will get much more substantial minutes than he would get here should he be the striker in place of Marica. Should Marica function as our 3rd choice Striker, you could still envision him getting 20-25 appearances, primarily via the lesser cup ties and maybe some Europa League group matches. Even if Kane is only used as a substitute, I still think there is value to that. Kane could even see time as a LF just to build some versatility to his game.

20-25 appearances? I assume you mean sub appearances, even so, I find that unlikely unless Defoe gets a long term injury. We're likely to play around 60-65 games this season, and you think Kane is likely to appear in just short of half of those?..As for Kane not getting game time out on loan, well that depends who he goes on loan to doesnt it, but I'd rather get him out on loan and see what kind of a player he can become. Bring Marica in, sell him on in a season or 2 and make a prophet (or at least cover the wages outlay), by that time Kane will be 20/21 and closer to his full potential, which is exactly the format we have used to develop Walker/Townsend. Also I challenge you to explain why you think our loan history is "lackluster" when most pundits/ex pro's seem to think we are using the system better than any other Prem Club.

I know him pretty well. He's a good striker. At the national team has a good scoring record and some goals against good teams, like Spain, Holland, etc. He isn't the tallest player but his heading is very good, he has speed also, good ball control and dribbling abilities. At the national team he plays as ST, CF as the only forward and wins a lot of physical duels and can make spaces for players coming from the 2nd line. At club level he was more of a backup player at Stuttgart and Schalke and didn't had that many accomplishments. And he was used more like a SS or winger. Wenger wanted him when he was a top youngster at Shakhtar Donetsk but Stuttgart payed more (he's still the player who hold the record as the biggest sum payed for him at VFB).
He didn't sign with a team yet because he demands a pretty big fee and he is waiting for the best offer he can get, being a free agent. But nowhere near Adebayor's pay.
He can be a good signing if it's confirmed and if he will adapt well. But i don't know if the rumor is true.
This is his latest goal from a couple of weeks ago against Hungary:

Think i'd sooner use Kane, the boys starting to impose himself on games more and is definitely getting better. It does make me wonder if we haven't got any more transfer funds though, we should have gone all out for Pato if we had anything substantial in the coffers.

might be worth a try but i'm sure Levy won't offer him 60k per week. half of that should be okay.

Doubt we would buy unless Baldini and AVB want him. In that case ok since Ade is being frozen out for whatever reason so we only have Soldado and Kane. Personally I don't rate Kane at all, we all hope he will be a good player but I doubt many of us think he will

This rumour keeps cropping up, two scenarios are options..

1) Harry will get the emergency loan and come in for Kane/Ade/Defoe, he probably tried for Soldado, who could blame him :D

2) He is desperate for a club to take him, Spurs seem like a decent club for his representatives to link him with in the media, another club thinks he must be good and snaps him up..

Onion..

Hahaha, this entire thing reeks.

Agent just linking him with us since we're now a big club, hoping that some of the teams one tier below us will think we actually saw something in him and therefore give him his contract.

I guess the only thing we get out of this is the flattery that we're now big enough to be used as a measurement of talent, even if it's a scam.

Ffs, I was really hoping we'd sign him just so we'd hear this creative gem ringing out at WHL...
