He's not a great LB. He worked well in the Spain game, because of the tactical specifics of that match. His future is in midfield IMO.

He played last season predominantly in central midfield. I think he is a great player personally, Ajax player of the season for the past couple of seasons (including while Eriksen was there) and Dutch player of the year this past campaign so there is no doubting he's good. But, he isn't the answer to our left back situation. He's a bit of a oddity in that he plays DM or LB but he is actually very good on the ball with both feet and can obviously put in a good cross so I think a midfield 3 would suit him best and if we were to be interested we'd have to ship a few first. This is why I don't think the Shaw deal to UTD makes a difference on whether LVG goes for Blind, he could easily accommodate both

LVG used him as a wing back for Holland but he's been at his best recently as a holding mid at Ajax. I take it he's being used as the latter though?

Regardless, he's a decent signing. Nothing groundbreaking but he'll cover a couple of positions and at worse be a very good squad player.

Would it be unkind to call this a very average signing for big money by United ? Decent enough player but nothing special.
I think he's a very good footballer. Can play multiple positions due to versatility and intelligence. He only lacks in the physical attributes.

Overall it would be a good signing for Man U to bring him in.

Agree he would be a good signing but they look like they need a Sandro type player maybe they will give us £20 million as they flashing the cash..

LVG doesn't seem to want to play a DM at all, which is possibly why their back 3 are getting shredded the way they are.

Rojo isn't a Man U player problems with third party owners
I thought only we had problems with 3rd party ownership?

I actually believe it's a work permit issue, which should be sorted out as he has plenty of starting caps as an international now after this last World Cup.

Rojo will be most likely used as a centre-back and Blind's best position is as a defensive midfielder. He lacks the speed to be a really good full-back.
