Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has been told he must sell Harry Kane if he cannot persuade the England captain to sign a new contract. Spurs owner Joe Lewis is understood to have informed Levy he is not prepared to let Kane run down his contract and leave as a free agent next summer.

It's funny - this article has no sources, but has apparently become the source for others who use phrases like, "People are saying" and, "We've seen reports"

Journalism in this country is such a blag for 99% of those who have that in their job description.

It's the sort of thing that old man Joe would tell Levy. We know he's not interested in football only profit and the thought of losing out on a big pay deal it's "sell him now ,Who cares if the team suffer"

Harry staying and his input helping us get back into the Champions League will be worth a lot more to the club, ENIC and Joe than shipping him out now, both immiediately and in the future.

"San Diaaago... Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina."

No reason for me to share that, other than it's been stuck in my head ever since I saw the "reporter" came from the place.

Doesn't have the 'Ring of truth' to me.
Matt Law in the Telegraph has just posted an updated article (https://www.telegraph.co.uk/footbal...ottenham-future-enic-lewis-tiger-woods-spurs/) , rowing-back on the original lurid headline...
"One high-profile source who has worked with Levy and Tottenham for well over a decade told Telegraph Sport that Lewis ‘never gets involved’ in football-related decisions which is why reports of him ordering Levy to sell Kane if he will not sign a new contract have been met with caution by those who know both men."

Then I think you're in cloud cuckoo land. There's no way we'll keep a player for one year for potentially a 100 million transfer fee plus 10-15 million in wages. Levy doesn't need to be under orders from above, he'll sell Kane himself no question, if it looks out of the question that he'll sign a new contract.

There's no guarantee that Harry staying will get us back into the champions league, and there's no guarantee we'll miss champions league without Kane. No owner in their right mind would keep him if he's not signing a new contract.

Look at it this way - if Kane wasn't in our team would you pay 100 million to get him on loan for a year? That's the same financial decision just framed differently.
