Isn't it depressing that we're having a big discussion about incomes and turnover and catching up to the rich clubs etc, and really all we're really getting at is ultimately being able to pay some already massively overpaid prima-donna's even more vast amounts of money they absolutely don't deserve?

Yep. I can't believe there hasn't been a single article saying everyone else is paying too much and we are being more sensible. Its all the other way.

Simples, it's too early to categorically state anything about Rose. He may still leave, or he may be staying. No sense making any promises in the media right now. Do we have a Danny Rose-Peters in the academy?

After KWP's man of the match debut performance on Sunday, it appears we may well have another very good potential RB in the academy. More importantly, he appears to be very close, if not already, up to being a more than reliable guy to slip into the team when required.

During this period that Rose has been injured, he clearly hasn't been missed as we have not just beening winning, but often handsomely. Because of this, if Rose wants a move to increase his wage and to win trophies, my view is let him go ~ especially if we can get close to the £50m I have seen quoted.

I disagree. Ben has improved a lot, and done superbly. But before his injury Danny was the best player on the pitch week in, week out. Not just in terms of his play, but also his never-say-die attitude. We were fantastic last season. With Danny in the side, if he'd continued his form, we would have been bordering on unstoppable.

I love the guy. Was incredibly disappointed to see his comments.

Not sure we've got a ready made youth player ready to step up. Shouldn't have let Smith go IMO. It's notable though, that KWP has experience playing at LB as well as on the right...

I don't disagree with anything you say, Dan. I apologise for not making it clear that I admired his talent ~ in hindsight I should have. I was trying to say that if the guy wanted more than he though he was getting (and why shouldn't he) then let him go as we hadn't appeared to miss him too much.

Simple hypothetical question: Would you sell Danny Rose (to a league rival no less) if it was the only way for us to sign Ryan Sessegnon and a WF or RWB before the end of the window?

I would. I'd roar my arse off if we demanded £60m for him and they paid it without knowing how he's going to recover from injury.

Depends who the WF is. I'd do it if we could get Martial in but we'd probably end up with Josh King so no thx.

No way I'd ever sell to Chelsea and I'd hope Levy would be the same (Modric good precedent).

I take a Martial swap in a heartbeat but otherwise I think we should keep him this season, as much to show you can't simply bad behaviour your way out of the club for more money as anything.

To be fair - in 2016, the date of that revenue, our TV revenue was around £95M. Last season, our TV revenue was approximately £148M. And, we will have had CL money on top of that. So, with the new stadium, and continued top-4 prize money/CL money we would be over £300M pretty easily.

Its not Man City or Man U revenue - but we will have closed the gap with Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool - and can continue to concentrate on marketing revenue.

this is the key....don't try and compete with the Mancs but Roman is starting to demand Chelscum are run a bit like a business (because he has different personal priorities now) and Arse + Pool are also below the Mancs. If we can compete with that lot for wages all will be fine in the long run.

No - because as I stated earlier about dier etc as soon as you sell rose in this window - it is far more than selling to a rival, you are telling the rest of the squad that bleat to the rags and you'll get a live if you want, we are a selling club and we are breaking up our strong team/squad

I wonder if it's crossed Chelsea's minds to accidently leak Danny Rose interest prior to our game against them...oh, suprise suprise

I don't think it would matter. He's not playing, so it won't affect anyone on the team
