The lost boy returns soon...will a spell in Russian have turned him into a man or is he an expensive write off?

Bentley hasn't qualified as Show Pony as he is yet to do something cool like Dumi or Dalmat

He needs a manager to believe in him and give him a run to get his confidence levels up. There is a player in there somwhere, if you go back to the Blackburn days.

Before we start to use Bentley I want to see Falque and Townsend more often. Have to get rid of him and Jenas. Seems like they have 10 year deals

He wasn't too bad in his last spell in the team under Harry to be fair. I wonder if he regrets tipping the water cooler over him after the Man City game though? Realisticly I don't think he has a place in the current team, he'd be best off going somewhere that he's going to play every game.

Bale Pav and Bentley actually did well that year to boost Arry post Xmas...we missed that for last two seasons

Pav or even Crouch would be a welcome sight at the moment. That's how bad we need some backup.

With hindsight an expensive mistake - among the most costly of our flops along with Bent and Rebrov.

As much as disappointment, I feel really bad for DB. He really showed so much promise but just lost his way. Aaron Lennon has been so superb this season that DB is a forgotten man however I really would have loved to have seen him resurrect his career with AVB's arrival, perhaps as an attacking midfielder as he was as a youth player for the scum.

We ruined him to be fair, feel for him a bit, met him recently and he was a nice bloke. He's only 28 really hope he gets a Prem move and a few good years at the top under his belt.

I think we made about £4M loss when we sold him which i spose isnt so bad when you consider the criminal £16.5M he cost us

Criminal is the £18m Villa paid for him from Sunderland. At least when we signed him he still had potential.

He only played 7 games in Russia due to injury so nothing will have changed, he'll still be to slow and more interested in collecting the wages he doesn't deserve.
