It's one of those situations where someone will probably take a gamble and trust their medical staff (lol) to evaluate and judge the severity. Then in a few years time we'll be discussing either what a coup of a deal it was and how smart that club was or what a waste of money and how dumb that club was. Either way it's a gamble and one none of us have the tools or expertise to probably evaluate the cost/benefit analysis.1 horrendous injury that didn’t heal properly after surgery, required a 2nd surgical procedure and kept him out for nearly a year.
It’s not like he’s twisted his ankle or had a minor strain, he’s had a serious injury and suffered further problems with it, significantly delaying his recovery.

He’s just come off a big injury layoff how did good Kane look in his first few games back? It’s only the last few games of the season Kane’s started to resemble his old selfIt’s such a shame as pre injury he would have been a fantastic signing but as you say it would require a gamble to sign him now. In addition to this and I know he’s only recently returned to action... he hasn’t done anything of note. Fair enough if he looked decent then yes you would take a calculated gamble but for now there’s too many unknowns. I wonder whether Bournemouth would do a loan with an option to buy?

At £15-20m I think it is personally, I’m not sure what the limit should be but I agree £30m+ is too muchI know, my point was pre injury he looked very exciting and had a very successful season. However prior to this he was in the Championship. He's in effect had a 1 stand out season in the EPL followed by nearly a whole year out injured. Whereas Kane has had more than his fair share of injuries but has had multiple exceptional seasons and still delivered a very good return the last couple of seasons despite the injuries impacting his movement. If we were to sign Brooks then it must be for a sensible fee e.g. a year ago teams were quoted £50m+.. taking into account his horrific injury anything £30m+ is a big risk. £15-20m is more realistic but given our limited budget is it a risk we can take?
Seems like Bournemouth owe a fair bit in transfer fees.
Bournemouth dont need to really worry about remaining fees. They have lot of good players who will fetch them good money - but then they do have to rebuild from scratch.
Yeah, I can see them selling off minimum 5 players ( Ake, Wilson, King, Brooks and Lerma ) and they'll have to dip into the loan market and get creative with transfers.
I recon Ake will get a good chunk of that money back to them on his own (depending on his contract end date I guess), and if they are smart any player they sell to a club they should angle to get a player in on loan as part of the deal.
Of the group of attacking players we have
Son. Celso, Bergwign. Lamela, Moura, Ali. Tanguy
Ali and Lamela are the most dispensable . Sell Lamela and Ali for big money
Get in Brooks and Wilson
We instantly improve our attack by having an extra striker , a extra more mobile and speedy attacking midfielder and make some extra money for other parts of the team
If it happens we end up with a squad
Forward : Kane and Wilson
Attacking Midfielders : Son. Celso, Bergwign. Moura, Tanguy, Brooks
Defensive Midfielders : Winks, Skipp, Sissoko, Fernandes
Left Back : Davies, Sess
Right Back : Aurier
Center Backs : Sanchez, Toby, Dier, Japhet,
The glaring weakness in this squad is RB, CB and DM if we get PEH and the Belgian Right Back we would be doing pretty good
Without getting into the absolute insanity of selling an integral player like Ali (this season's performances not withstanding), its mindblowingly mental to attempt to sell him in the current, severely deflated post Covid market. If we needed to get rid, fine, but we don't and there is no chance anyone is going to pay what he was worth even 6 months ago.
Lamela is different, i like him but he's frustrating and getting towards the end of his contract it might be time to move him on. But, we wont get big money for him.
Also, I strongly disagree that moving two of our most established squad members, despite their flaws, and bringing in two players who may or may not improve us makes us stronger. The absolute best I'd hope for is we are no worse off because of it (and in all honesty I'm not convinced by that)
Without discussing the merits of selling Dele, the depressed market will affect purchases as well as sales so it's all relative. I doubt Levy will see it that way though, expecting purchases to be at rock bottom but sales to still be at pre Covid levels.
