Would prefer him to Redknapp but more because of his persona than anything else.
He has never worked as a coach and he doesn't seem tolerant either. I have strong doubts about whether he has the right personality for a coach.

Maybe not as a head coach; but he should be a good skills coach.

I've been saying this for a long long time. Not just to work with Andros, but before Bale became a worldy. He is so passionate about us. Actually genuinely loves the club I think. He hardly talks about the Barcodes in the same way that he does about us, and they gave him his start in England!

Not sure he can teach. Flamboyant players seem to have a hard time...anyway, maybe i'm just over-fearing. I keep relating him to Hoddle.

You're absolutely right that most geniuses can't coach, as they do things by instinct and not through a lot of thinking. Try to ask the late Georgie Best of Pele to try to repeat some of their magic moments, and they'll never be able to do so.

However, Ginno has taken the coaching badges, and I'm hopeful that he has learnt to impart his skills to young players who are more eager to learn than senior pros.

Ginola was a fantastic player, you never really knew which foot was his strongest he was so good. Very powerful and skillful. I liked him in France as he could play centrally as well.

He loves Spurs so I'm surprised he hasn't had a role yet. For attacking purposes he would be a great coach. I think even Graham got him to add more to his game too when he was here, even though I think held him back a bit

I've heard him talk about coaching and he certainly sounds very enthusiastic about it and spurs so I think it'd be good if we could get him on the staff. If it doesn't work out, it doesn't work out but there's no harm in giving him the opportunity, he has his badges so it's not like he has no idea about coaching

Would be great, I could just imagine him on the bench at the lane doing this to Wenger or more likely Sherwood!

On a serious note, everything he says about Townsend is right, it would be great having him amongst the staff... Can't imagine Tim would be too happy, he would definitely be seen as a threat to his future...

That vid is so funny. The beauty of live TV and a loose cannon!

Think Lamela is more in the Ginola mould than Townsend myself, surprised he didn't pick him out. Skills, quick feet, intelligent, go inside or out but so far massively lacking in confidence, physical strength and playing the ball at the right time - all things Ginola could help him work on as they have similar base skill sets, he just had tremendous self belief, was strong and was a huge character

Let's not forget Ginola, great that he was, could also be frustrating too, would try to take on the whole team, lose the ball and not track back, and shone in an unbelievably mediocre Spurs team when mid-table was standard. More is expected of Lamela instantly due to price tag and where we are now as a club, yet is much younger than when Gin joined us. Ginola could help chill him out, almost, and focus on his game. Of course Lamela needs games for that to happen, something Ginola was given in abundance

By contrast, Townsend is all power and pace for me. Doesn't seem particularly skilful in the main, can't imagine him going round a few players, weaving in and out, seems more of the Lennon 'I don't really have control of the ball here but I'm really fast and if I turn quickly I'll beat him' brigade. Dunno maybe I'm being too harsh but while a threat, he doesn't seem a particularly clever footballer. If Ginola can teach him that, he'll be worth his weight in gold. Maybe he likes Townsend's self belief and thinks he can build on it, which his shot tally shows he clearly has in abundance
