Interesting that Poch said we needed one player for each line. Almost like more depth for the spine of the team (GK, CB, CM/CAM, ST).

Gazzaniga, Sanchez?, Barkley, plus an attacking option. Looks an unfaesibly busy close to the window.
Torn on the right back issue. Poch had openly stated he doesn't feel Walker-Peters is quite ready to be front line backup, however, if we go regular back 3, is Sissoko a viable option as RWB, meaning Walker-Peters is not outright blocked by a new signing.

I would be amazed if our record transfer end ups being a 21 year old defender. No mater how much potential he has.

Maybe that's just the way this summer's market has gone, that's where the benchmark for players is now.

@1.26 That's called defending for your life.

Kid's got lots of qualities and will be versatile.

Hope we get him.

Most of those recoveries are for his own mistakes. Missed passes or bad positioning. It happened in all of the games I've watched Ajax last season. The highlight video will show you only the recovery. He's very strong and fast. That's for sure. But the best defender is the one that avoids danger, not the one that saves it in the last gasp.
I insist De Ligt is so much better and more our type of CB. I wish we would go for him instead

This match video is a better representation of how he plays

Thank you Liverpool!

They get silly money for Coutinho, spend a chunk on VanDijk, Southampton go to £25m on Wimmer, we add £7m or so, in (performance related fees knowing Levy) for this guy.

I have an Ajax supporting mate who is raving about this guy. Haven't seen alot myself, but he doesn't normally go over board about players.

Pochettino said in his presser Sissoko was an option at RWB in a 3, also Gazzaniga, Sanchez, Barkley plus an attacking option is exactly what both ITKers and Pochettino have said we'll be doing close to the window (although Pochettino didn't mention names obvs)
