I used to be. The guy is living on reputation, not performances.

I'll agree, he doesn't do much of that sort of thing anymore, however I think it's more of a result of how he's been asked to play over the last couple of years. FWIW I thought he'd been doing a decent job up until the break, playing all over the place.

I'm willing to give him next season before calling for his head though. He's not fallen that far that he can't come back.

Need a big decision from him and/or us this summer because as it stands I don’t see where he fits in Jose’s set up. Dele needs to decide what kind of player he wants to be going forward and if it’s the ponderous, positionless de facto second striker floating around the pitch he was allowed to become then he has no place in this side. Too slow to be one of the wide attackers, too ponderous and wasteful to be the 10, too lazy and ill disciplined to be a CM

If he can show the hunger and edge of his first few years then he can thrive again, he has the intangibles to be a key player again. But ultimately the buck stops with him

You would think that being dropped by England would've been enough to see him really try and turn around what's happened to him, to rediscover what made him so effective when he first joined us.

But he seems to have just doubled-down on everything that's seen his career nose-dive instead. It's such a shame but IMO there is zero chance of him ever rediscovering that form. That player just isn't there anymore. There is so much he just doesn't do. He's lost all his pace, all his dribbling skill, he never shoots and certainly never hits long shots anymore, his drive and ability to get forwards has turned into this awful dawdling nonsense, and even his decision making seems to have slowed to a crawl. It's inexplicable and it's awful.

I don't think there's anything sinister going on either - this isn't a guy believing his own hype (maybe it was at first, but I genuinely believe he's been trying his best to get back to the player he was. It just hasn't happened. He needs to go and watch some videos of how he used to play because it's completely different from the player we see out there today.

I don't know why it's happened, and I'm not aware of such a huge downturn happening for a player before, but it's happened, and IMO we should cash in at the first opportunity before his value hits net zero. Not that I can really see any buyers for him this summer.

Dele is best getting on the end of things, unfortunately we are a team that creates very little for him to get on the end of.

Lmao 8G, 4A this season in 1800 minutes as a midfielder in the Premier League and all of a sudden he is nearing net zero value...? Okay then ?

For comparison:
Son [who most agree is undroppable for us] - 226 minutes per goal in the Premier League this season
Dele - 232 minutes per goal in the Premier League this season

Such short memories... He was one of our key men before the restart. Now through injury and suspension, he has featured a total of 90 minutes since the restart. Because of this, he's suddenly worthless? Ridiculous...

He won't be sold this summer. If he stays fit he will be an important player again for us next season. You best believe it.

Lol he played less than 15 minutes today, and came into a match we were content to just see out. And you come up with this...

Not giving up on him he’s best as a shadow striker and admittedly not sure where he fits into this JMo squad but more than willing to give him a chance to find one

even with the time missed he’s still our third leading goal scorer this season ffs

Are any of Lo Celso, Berg, Lucas gonna chip in a 10+ goals a season? I doubt it and goals are what win games. Dele has that in his locker even in a shitty season so quick to give up hope

Literally all three of those players are quite capable of that and have surpassed that in their careers.

yet they aren’t doing it here

While Dele is a proven commodity. Have u seen anything from those 3 to make u honestly believe they can score goals on a consistent basis? I agree he’s been a shell of his former self lately but his upside is much higher than any of those 3 imo

Any of those guys have 50+ epl goals? Any of them won young player of the year? they had less than 10 goals between them this year how many did Dele have in an injury plagued season?

But yeah let’s sell him him off and replace him with someone w much much much less an of impressive dossier. Let’s give up on a 24 yr old who has done so much for this squad. I’m sure we’ll lock up another 5mil purchase to do nearly as much. Those guys ain’t scoring goals guys and I’m sure u know goals win matches. Dele might be nonexistent for 80 min and I know it’s frustrating but he has damn sure banged some in for us when he needed to.

When team plays well and have a solid midfield two behind him, dele will play well ...

With someone like sissoko and winks behind him, dele will be nonexistant. Though I would not be averse to selling him if that means we can bring someone like grealish which personally I think not realistic. So lets just hope Dele can be fit and firing for next season ...

Dele is a much different player than Grealish. I love Grealish we should’ve fucking signed him but he’s a creator which we need while Dele is a finisher.

a ball comes over the top to Lucas Moura we all think well this is going wide when it comes it for Dele we expect a goal

truly amazing to me how this board acts as if hes not an amazing player cuz he’s been out of form trying to find his place in a new team under a new manager with nagging injuries

I’ll take Dele plz
