You said Harry was blowing smoke up deles arse? I said how do you know? I didn’t ask if you was a parent. How do you know what’s been said. and I’m also a parent. Also Harry Hickford is part of my family. And I guess that means I know his dad too. So I know a fair bit more about the family than you.
Yeah but, dude, that's not what he said. He's saying if there's a situation where this Harry person is not providing the necessary words, that may be a problem (and, to be frank , not even that specifically - it was actually a very general point about the nature of support).

Whether one knows Harry Hickford, Dele or any of the family and associates around him or not, that's likely to be true, no matter who it happens to be.

Look, I can understand if there's a personal element to this for you, but ultimately, we're fans of Dele and, I for one, would love to know how he could be brought back to the player that he was. Any insight you can provide on that would be useful. But we're not here looking to lambast anyone for the sake of lambasting them.

another poster said it about yesterdays game when Dele has Bale free to his left on the edge of the box but he keeps the ball and then tries and pass it to Vini i think surround by 3 or 4 defenders and no win ball,
maybe didn't see Bale but look a very obvious straight forward pass.
also the litter flicks aren't working so just get back to basics and do the simple things.
just don't see the hungry in him at the moment even more so than we had from Eriksen, which is a pity as he has some talent Dele.

I've said before its the basics he can't do, always tries the extravagant. If he picked his moments and worked on the basics he would be a better player

Whether or not he's playing in his best position is irrelevant to the amount of effort he showed yesterday. No excuses for half arsed tracking back and sloppy 10 yard passing.

Apparently gave the ball away 11 times in the first half

We watched Hazard walking round the pitch after him and Jose fell out. Didn't make him a shit player.
Alli isnt the first creative player to fall foul of Jose and he wont be the last.

lol What are you on about, Jose called Hazard out and next season he won POTY

I’m Dele’s biggest fan but I don’t blame Jose for this situation. He’s been injured or out of form for a long time, only he can turn it round and there’s not much evidence he’s giving it his best shot.

Ah cool. Yes, a sports psychologist may be useful for Dele, if the stuff he's had to handle is affecting him. Talk it out, get his head straight.
You do know that a psychologist is not the same as a psychiatrist, don’t you?

Tunguy gets called out for his play and at this moment in time he is our most influential player that is his reaction to a bollocking .
Ali gets called out and its the same old lackadaisical approach to the game slow ponderous and wasteful .
You can play in a languid type of game and still be affective but Ali seems so ineffective and is no danger to opponents plus he gives the ball away far too often . I believe that a change of leagues IE Spainish or French and it may suit him .
Having said that I would have said the same for him about the Belgium League but against Antwerp he was the ultimate twerp .
The fact is he is an enigma one that we cannot afford at the moment .

I don't know the numbers but yeah it was far from pretty. I could sort of accept it if he was constantly trying difficult through balls in an attempt to drive us forward. From memory though that wasn't how it was, and quite a few of those passes(I use that term loosely) were only 5-10 yards and sideways.

Personally think he's done here now, we'll have to see.

Counterpoint: what if, despite all the investment and massively talented squad assembled for him, Mourinho fails to get Top 4?

What if part of the reason for this was that he treated young talented assets so poorly that a) they never return to the output they achieved for multiple seasons prior to his arrival b) it offended other members of the squad on the "if it can happen to him" basis they also drop performance, and c) at the end of it all we lose Mourinho (sacked); Dele (no way he's playing for Spurs after this treatment) and perhaps Kane/Son/Lo Celso because grass simply must be greener...

Now I don't think this will happen. But I find this brinkmanship with young talent hazardous at best. I'd understand if Dele had an entourage like Ndombele who were briefing against the manager - but I can't see any evidence of that so I'm a bit bemused as to why Mourinho is being so cold. he's devaluing the asset more than if he simply didn't select him because he doesn't fit our structure now. A perfectly reasonable set of circumstances.

I don't mind Dele being left out of the team - I do worry about the apparent contempt. I don't understand it.

Maybe stuff is happening behind the scenes? Has there been ITK?

but he's tried the softly loving approach, he did the same with tanguy ( called him out ) and he's knuckled down and now is showing the fruits of tough love. you get a brief look at dele's mindset in the amazon doc, imo he doesnt have the same mindset as to when he joined and that is down to him to get it back, he's a talent without doubt, but if you dont have the application in training and yourself, you'll always be tarnished with " look at what he could of done " a few years ago, he could had probably had his pick of any tea, in world football, now he will be lucky to get a top 6 prem team.

He'll thrive in the right team imo. As many have said he just doesn't fit into our system and appears unwilling or unable to adapt. Personally I think he'd be smashing it alongside or just behind Ings at Southampton for example.

I feel for the lad, he's just lost his way for whatever reason. I hope he still has a very good career whether it's with us or someone else. It does look pretty ominous for him with us though.
