I think this is another reason why English players probably hate playing for the national team, rather than celebrate the opportunity like they do for other nations.

No wonder the young players in this country never fully develop....they start to blossom, get battered, then simply settly for international mediocrity.

Good luck to him, the place will be full of 'pissed off/pissed up' England fans. Thankfully he's very thick skinned.

not sure what else is he expected to do. hide in a hole? everyone deserves a break, its a long long season for him and every player at the euros, they need time to wind down before the start of pre-season.

i am sure other players are enjoying their breaks, with families and love ones.
