we should be proud to unearth such talent that is keeping us competitive. And yes its sad that they had to leave. But at least we saw some amazing players over the years.

Not at least though, thats been the only highlight of the past 20 years unfortunately

Look at it the other way round, it shows that when we have to sell a player at a big fee we always reinvest that money in new players, some owners would just take the profit and pocket it.

transfer fee doesn't tell the story wages do.

This, this and thrice this. There's far too much emphasis on transfer spend and not enough on wages.

The fact we're well run financially and do well to maximise our earning potential whilst remaining competitive does Levy a lot of credit - let's face it, it's his biggest plus because we're miles off when it comes to wages compared to City, Chelsea etc. I don't get the impression he's the greatest people person though which holds us back in other ways.

Either way the food chain and our place in it will always mean we lose our best players/staff if they're good enough to do the business at more successfuls clubs. The stadium and the ability to fill it will help us loads but only if we continue with the same model and can be genuinely competitive - summink Arsenal quite ominously haven't managed - just ask Cesc, RVP, Samir and Gale for starters...

I winner'd this mainly because it's right, but also because I'm relieved you're still alive. Where the fuck have you been ? On a Sherwood hiatus ?

Busy busy mate, but checking this place over from time to time. Been to a lot of away games this year, problem is it's so traumatic and tiring an experience watching the lottery that is Spurs these days that it leaves me no energy to post any comments on them. Will be there Sunday but will be glad it's over and for once looking forwardish to the world cup...hoping for Frank, would settle for Poch but would be a little disappointed.
