As others have said this felt like something that had been holding up our transfer business. Hopefully things are clearer now and it frees up some money to spend.

This would have been a big outlay so if our interest is legit then there's at least £50-60m more in the budget now.

Get Adama sorted tomorrow. Add a few million on to the agents/signing fees for Kessie. Try and get De Ketelaere or propose a GLC/En Nesyri swap with Sevilla.

Dybala feels a pipedream though, fully expect him to go to Inter now.

Never really believed fully that we'd sign him, despite the positive noises. I always feel like we are selling the soft side of things - the training ground, the stadium, London, best league, currently a top coach, a project pushing to reach the pinnacle, etc. But we lose out because some club is willing to pay more cash money. Not that I dislike us selling our club and project, etc., but that only goes so far. Plus, with these mega transfers, I always suspect some financial dark arts from the clubs (or at least things like massive agent fees), and I'm just not really sure we do that as a club to the same degree as the real super clubs.

Mildly disappointed if true. One player doesn't make or break the transfer or Conte's system though. He certainly could have added quite a bit of tactical flexibility to the club and at the same time make us less dependent on Harry and Sonny. Also find it curious that he's been loyal to the Fiorentina fans and then willing to jump ship at the worst possible time. Between what Meercat said and the other ITKs, there is something incongruent here. Maybe it is the agent but will be reading any future ITK on the man quite interesting. And @Meercat, you better have a great story next year at Christmas time on how you completely ignore him when he gets on the phone with you.

For weeks all we've heard is his club chairman saying he won't speak to anyone, he'll make a decision at the end of the season, he's going nowhere until the summer and now suddenly he's made a decision, started flapping his gums and is off?

It's possible of course but for now, until there's something more concrete or at least until something actually and officially happens, i'll wait and see how it pans out.

This sounds all too familiar… Vlahovic wants us to wait, buggers off elsewhere. We’re front runners for Kessie… he wants to wait to the summer to assess his options.

In these modern times keeping a long dialogue with clubs, agents and players seems to pay off less than it used. We need to be calling their bluff and making official offers for these players… if they say no then we move on to our next target.

Question about the 'irons on the fire' by Paratici. Is that actually true of how he works or was it just a load of waffle from Romario?

If he does go to Juve it is best it happens now imo. We can move on to other targets rather than putting our eggs in this basket only to miss out in the summer. Just hope we do enough to keep Conte happy, if DV was his main target and we can't get him we need to show we are supporting him in other ways and refresh the squad as much as possible. Thankfully it looks like we are doing that with the list of potential outs.
